Well my first 2 ebay items ended this evening - £27 and I got a £20 sale on Amazon too. A nice start to the weekend.
Took someone's (sorry can't remmeber everyone's names yet!) advice and bought a charger to go with my phone to sell. I think I'll get a better price for it on ebay - worth the risk anyway.
I oredered something on New Years Eve with the intention to sell it on - later discovered by me to be very unlikey because I didn't research properly(!!) - but the items still haven't arrived yet. Its a bit frustrating.[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000 -
Eyesparky,
Have you tried holding a wet sponge with very warm water over the offending item? then you can either rub it with your finger or scrape it off with your name and then wipe of the stickiness. I do this when i find stickers anywhere.

Bit out of left field ... does anyone know how to get really well stuck on stickers off things? Any help really appreciated
.
first, warm up label with hair dryer then peel off slowly, you can use strong sellotape to remove remianing residue, alternative is nail varnish on cotton for stubborn sticky stains left, but not suitable on all surfaces, the nail varnish is also a last resort idea for stubborn labels, again though plastic surfaces etc would not be suitable
another tip found: Given a few days to work, cooking oil will combine with the glue and soften it. After peeling off the label, the oily residue responds to hot water and detergent. You can help the oil to penetrate by peeling off or scratching the label's surface
never used that but dont know if it will work for you? Thanks to all who post comps :T0 -

Thanks shell ... yes, where I can I have but still really difficult. I will just have to take my time over it. One of them is on the body of a power tool so I don't want water near that one ... the others are on the case etc. At least I know they did their job ... my brother put them on everything with our old company logo on for security reasons ... well they are very secure :rotfl:. Patience is a virtue.
Edit: Thanks everyone for the advice ... nail varnish remover rings bells now... I don't have immediate access to such things now but if nothing else works I will head to the shops in the morning. Thanks again

Depending on what it is, Kim and Aggie use hairspray I think.
Mabel, get yourself that MSN account! I too have suffered from panic attacks and depression, which is a major reason why I have opted for self-employment, so we can support each other with that as well.0 -
Just found this thread and what a coincidence. At the beginning of December My wife and I were chatting about our plans to move once our youngest goes goes to Uni in September.
We decided that we would try and make £5000 by September. We are doing this by buying collectables at a local auction and selling on ebay.
I bought a box full of QEII world Cruise bits, a huge book dated 1871 that has around 600 paid invoices in it and two micro mosaic brooches. All told it cost me £105
I listed about 80% of the QEII stuff and after all fees made £270 and had the xmas break.
I have another 20 items running now 11 finish this Sunday 2 have bids and the others all have multiple watchers so fingers crossed.
This week I spent another £100 at the auctions (Auctions are about 1 or 2 a month) and listed 7 out of 25 items I bought to finish next Sunday (I need to do some research on most of it) 4 already have bids and one item has 12 watchers
I hope this gives more encouragement to you all and I will post updates every Sunday evening as the ebay listings finish
