Trying to sell a black Nintendo Wii - not for profit unfortunately ! A relative refused it as a Xmas pressie and said I had spent too much. So I gave them some socks instead !!

I have listed it on ebay but no takers. Thought as brand new in box unopened it would have sold but hey ho.

Anyone know of other places I can sell it ? Dont like the idea of freeads or gumtree due to people coming to the house. Might seem a bit dodgy if I asked to meet in a lit car park !

    Any ideas please?
Blockbusters video stores used to buy games/consoles, my son sold his DS and PS2 and got a fair price for them, might be worth a try there.

You can use the account you have now but need to change it from personal to business, although i believe once you have changed to business you can't revert back to personal on the same account.

you can but only if you e-mail ebay, they then review your account and see if you are selling the vast amount as a business would, if not they change it back for you.

Have you got a quote from a mainstream store? I don't know what you would get, but we bought a Wii for Xmas and it came with a game we didn't want, the store bought it back for £30. (Gamestation).........or would it be worth hanging onto since the black ones might be limited editions? I was told at Xmas they were going to see how popular the black ones were before they decided to continue production....

  • I knit too and make special cardies jumpers for my kids but wool isn't cheap so find that it costs you more in wool let alone the time it takes too.
To make a baby cardie and hat for my lo cost me £8 in wool but you can pick them up already knitted at the car boot for 50p.

thank you, i had thought it might prove expensive, never mind time consuming. well, i have a few balls of lovely wool here that's doing nothing. been here for about 2 years so i will use it up and sell whatever i make. might aswell get something back for it.

wow, spent ages reading up on this thread.

well, my delivery of items i had purchased arrived today, cos they were short of stock though not as many as i had hoped, but £70 worth, first items listed on ebay so fingers crossed. So £70 spent of my £100, will keep hold of £30 maybe for charity shops etc.

now because i have so far put in £70, when i start selling on ebay, i assume i can't include this straight away, until i have made more tha £70 (after all fees etc) judging by some earlier post, or s it that anything from the £100 is seen as achieved towards this goal so say if i sell 1 item at 5.99 do i say i have 5.9(less any fees)/£10,000??

also, sorry, haven't quoted it, but someone was asking about buying jars for jam etc, my tip would be if on facebook, put in status you want all old/used jars, you can ask on freecycle if people have large amounts of jars you can have, tell friends family to keep them, don't know how many jams you plan on mkaing, but if you start collecting jars this way now, you may not need to buy any? all helps. :)
Thanks to all who post comps :T

    Hi everyone,

I've been reading this thread with interest (for a few days now before finally reaching page 60 and making an executive decision to fastforward otherwise I might never have caught up;))

Firstly I'm well impressed with everyone's efforts - wow!!

Now, apologies if I am about to repeat something from a previous post, however I just want to say to keep the faith (as Bing0 quite rightly states) the Universe does deliver...I have had first hand experience of this therefore you have my promise!
It doesn't happen overnight but it DOES HAPPEN:D

Well done everyone and keep at it:grin::grin::grin::grin:

I bought it from Argos I think ( I bought one for my girls and one for a relative so I know one came from Argos !) . It was £179.99. I wont get that back for it,but it is so hard working out a price on ebay due to fees and paypal and fvf ! I want £155 for it but I need to put it on for £180 to get this back after fees !!

I did all my Xmas shopping as early as possible this year, but not handy when you need to return something and the time limit for returns is up !

I could keep it I suppose in case its limited edition - I might use this fact to try and sell to my cousin though - its a good price I think at £155. Maybe I should try freeads ?

  • Wow! Since going back to work yesterday it's been hard keeping up with this thread, spent ages reading all the posts i've missed but well worth it as you people are all so full of great ideas and though I don't post much I still feel that I have all the support I need right here.

Just a quick update, won £10.00 on a slot game today so will add that to my total once it is safely in the bank. Have listed 21 items on ebay so far and all but 3 have either bids or watchers so looking hopefull there for most of them, first auctions don't end till Sunday but i can't help myself logging in constantly to see how they're doing! Being back at work means i'm restricted to getting my listings done in the evening now and I still have a load of stuff to list but turbolister has been a godsend as I can add a couple of items each night then I can upload them at the weekends so they are all finishing at the one time.

Keep up the good work everyone.
