Promoted to having more money, by doing practically the same job AND spicing up my CV.
My path lead elsewhere, but my work attitude stays the same, and im working as hard as i can to progress
Everyone here KNOWS you cant get something for nothing, but the point here is that EVERYONE has the means to make a bit extra if the motivation is there.
Hence why some have reduced it to 5000. some to less.
No point in having a target thats easy to get. if it was £500 extra, a lot of people would get it in a month, by selling old stuff.
If its a reality check, this is the core basics of business. Buy stuff cheap, or use your own skills or knowledge to make money. use that money to invest in it and make more money.
Dire Circumstances? Sir Alan was bankrupt twice!
Luck is all about time and place. so to make oneself lucky one must put oneself in lucks way.
::EDIT::
Just an added note, i can see where your coming from and respect you for saying it, but there are two sides to every coin. Try to see it from our point of view aswellCredit card: [STRIKE]£2533.30[/STRIKE] £0 as of July '16!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE]£0 as of July '16!Aim:Save for a working trip to New Zealand leaving late 2016/ early 2017!0 -
Whitegoods that would be a profound statement if we were all morons.
But we're not.
We're all quite aware that very few of us will hit 10,000.
The rest of us arn't going to be crying into our cornflakes about it, we're going to have fun congratulating those people and cheering each other on to whatever figure we reach.
As with most threads like this, the fun is in the journey not the goal.
You clearly have no intention of joining this challenge so feel free to go and be negative, sorry realistic, on other threads.0 -
I am fully aware that this target is aspirational thank you. I think you have made your point, there's no need for this to turn nasty. You don't agree, you have said your piece so move on if it's not for you. On the other hand why don't you challenge yourself to a target that you feel is manageable to raise a bit of extra cash. Go on, you might suprise yourself.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

even if only one or two of us make the 10k it is something to be proud of, as we will have all had a part in it due to the support and banter. An old scottish saying "many a mickle maks a muckle" and of course out of samll acorns large oaks grow - so mr engineer something or other away and find a thread that supports negativityskintbint x

Why come here and spout negativity whitegoods_engineer? Go somewhere else, because we don't want to hear it... however feel free to pop back at the end of the year to find out how well we have all done!!
Just a quick update... I am almost £300 up... that takes me to January 10th target wise (as I am working on the basis that I need to find £30 a day)... and I've not even started eBaying my garage of crap yet!!

So realistic is negative?
I thought being realistic was a true positive! We can all dream and imagine, but unfortunately we can all get carried away.
I didn't accuse anybody of being moronic. I have found contributors to these forums to range between the worldly wise to the downright depths of stupidity.
The comment that "anything is possible" is just stupid. You get these deluded people on X factor who are tone-deaf, ugly and sound like a castrated cat squealing going in front of the judges with the same thought in their heads "anything is possible" However, they are NOT going to win, no matter how much self belief or delusion they have.
Yes, most people, with a bit of application can buy and sell on Ebay (although that is possibly the most overpriced method of selling of all), but buying £100 of tat from a car boot and compounding future sales to the dizzying heights of £10,000???

I am under no illusion that I will make £10,000 this year and have set myself a smaller target to reach.
From what I have read of others as well none of them think if they invest £100 then they will automatically make £10,000 this year, this is why its called a challenge. We will all have a bit of luck and probably make mistakes but isn't that what business is all about?
Thats just my opinion anyway.Total Debt [STRIKE]£36323[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] £19000 January 20160 -

We're not interested, take this to the discussion forum instead please. This is the "up your income" area. You clearly do not wish to take part in this challenge, you just want to whine and belittle our efforts to raising a little money. If you take this up at the discussion forum I am sure there will be plenty of other pessimists who will side with you over there.0 -

Couldn't agree more, and you are indeed sensible and realistic. That's all I am trying to say! I just want this thread to have the same sensible approach you have clearly taken, and not give desperate people false and unrealistic hopes.0
