I was just watching a TV programme which mentioned you could freeze your own roast potatoes - must admit I'd never even considered doing this.
Isn't it basically just the same as making your own oven chips.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Quite a good idea to do your own when it's nice and quiet, then take them out of the freezer early Xmas morning and heat them through for 20 minutes or so. Might give it a go beforehand to see how it works.0

I do this, whenever I am making roasties, or have something in the oven that is going to be in long enough to do roasties, I put in extra spuds and freeze them when they are done (and cooled).
I do the same with mash, make extra and freeze in individual portions.0 -

Yes but it saves time when you are actually making meals. It saves money too.
I live alone, so instead of having the oven on to do one portion of roast spuds, or chips, I do as many as I can and freeze the extra portions.
At a later date they only need heating up, which saves money.0 -
Well, I'll definitely give it a go. I think I make the best ever roasties and I suppose everyone else feels the same, so it's one of those things I wouldn't think of buying, since making them isn't rocket science - or pastry!0

I often freeze left over roasted veg, especially when my son announces he is not going to be in for Sunday dinner AFTER I have started preparing everything, have frozen roast spuds, roast parsnips, butternut squash and steemed carrot before now. Always come out absolutely fine.
I don't spend the day in the kitchen preparing dinner, we only have a cold dinner the night before so I do the veg Christmas Eve, that way I find out in time if we are lacking anything too!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
The Tesco Garlic and Rosemary roast potatoes are really nice too! The too are on offer at 99p down from £1.49! I have a pack of them and the Tesco finest in the freezer waiting for the big day although i dont know which is going to have the pleasure of gracing the dinner table as yet!
