Thanks to this week's FL challenge I've woken up on a Saturday to a clean bathroom, kitchen and living room...I even made sure I had tidied the living room before I went to bed last night, normally unheard of! All I've had to do is open windows to air the rooms and put away the washing up.
Thank you, I feel :j about one aspect of my life
I'm going to continue to keep on top of things and then use a Moggins style folder to start doing the deep clean elements as I'm back at work full-time next week. I'm determined to tackle every 'hot spot' in the room and will take before and after photos...when I work out how without a digital camera

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Moggins and everyone else for their encouragement. My house has never looked like this before, and I actually enjoyed doing it! Off for the final push now before my SIL and BIL arrive to house-sit and dog-sit for a week while we go away (hence the urgency of the cleaning this week!)
Might take some photos when I finish so that when I get behind I can remind myself how nice it looks when it is clean!£2 Coin Savers Club £14 :j (joined 18/2/06)0 -
I have only just seen this thread but intend on doing a quick clean of the whole house today(to gain some control) and hope to start the one room a day schedule on monday. Wish me luck coz my house and the untidiness needs sorting.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. I have a problem.
I understand logically that it is better to do housework little and often so that it actually takes less time in the long run
BUT
I MUST see the results of my labours and looking at an area that doesn't look much different after I have finished because it was quite tidy before is demoralising.
How can I get the same sense of achievement from 'keeping on top of it?'
Am I a sad case or Is there hope for me?0 -
Well done everyone :T :T :T , with an extra :T :j for MP as I know how tough it's been for you lately.
I'm so gratefull to moggins for this thread and her support/advice. Tonight I have a friend staying over as we have an early start tomorrow (trip to safari park) and for once all I need to do is a quick swish and swipe.
I won't be taking part in todays 'big push' as my focus needs to be on a picnic tomorrow (I still need babysteps with frequent rests  )
However I will be continuing with the challenge next week as I've a long way to go before I can honestly say my house is 'done'.
Who else is continuing next week? Are you with us next week moggins (hope so!!!).
Off to read up on white vinegar now as I bough a bottle yesterday to tackle that 'stinky bathroom', and the downstairs loo will be getting new flooring sooner than planned as DD (darling DOG) decided to chew not only the carpet, but also the hardboard underneath
Good luck all with todays challenge

I agree that this can be a problem if you look at it from the way of cleaning it to make it clean, but the whole point of of getting the deep clean done is to give yourselves more free time not less, just remember that now you can keep on top of it with a quick swish and swipe in the morning, a quick tidy up in the evening before bed, then there is more time for those of you who have to work to do other things. For those SAHM's to just dive out the house in the summer holidays with the kids for a picnic instead of worrying how the house looks before you go.
At the start of the thread I said it was to give us time to play, we're not cleaning machines, we're women (or men) with lives to live and things we want to do, who wants to stay in all summer cleaning for Britain, not me for sure. Just keep on top of it and enjoy your free timeOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Next week I want to have a little chat about something I read in a book last night if that's okay? But of course it's okay for anyone still flying to carry on, I completely understand the difficulties of trying to fit in W*** too, I used to be there once
