Wouldn't a better comparison be to see what drivers of other major metro systems earn, in the context of that country's average salary? They are an EYESORES!!!!0

I do not have a view on whether it is right or wrong, just cannot se why two very similar (and I personally think driving a bus would be more stressful) have such a difference in pay rates. Could it be that there is no direct private sector competition to find a market rate?0 -
I don't understand it either; tube drivers don't even have to talk to passengers and argue with idiots over whether their bus tickets are valid or not. Bus drivers have to drive themselves, tube drivers don't even fully control the vehicle. If anything bus drivers shou;d get more"People fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer"0

It'd make more sense then to pay them per incident for that.Out,_Vile_Jelly wrote: »Tube drivers face the regular risk of having to witness gory suicides. Happens a lot more than people realise.
Yes, risk of attitude and physical attack must be hourly on the buses.Out,_Vile_Jelly wrote: »I do think London bus drivers should earn more than what they do- they have to deal with the great unwashed face to face and have to take all sorts of attitude, especially from feral teens.0 -
