Evening all
We did our Santa's Grotto again in work today. The morning was a bit iffy as one of my teens clearly didn't want to be there and was just grumpy, but luckily the schoolkids didn't notice! This afternoon was much better and they did great
Very proud of them. The schoolkids (nursery to yr 2) were angelic and seemed to think out Santa was the real one. Made me a tad broody
I've posted all my Xmas cards for people who live away, and will give out the rest this weekend and next week.
Popped to Homebargains on my way home and got some good bargains. Brand name food stuff I would normally buy for minimum half price, plus some toilettries.
I've washed dishes and I'm just deciding on what to have for tea. Either nachos, stirfry or pizza, I can't decide!
8 sleeps til I fly to New Zealand :j
Have a good evening all

Hi,
I have been very busy today. Been christmas shopping with DD and got her some clothes and a pair of trainers. I also splurged and bought myself a pair of Ugg Boots. I only thought that I would try them on but once on I could not prise them off my feet as they were just so comfortable and warm. My circulation is very poor and my feet are little blocks of ice so you could say they are medicinal?
I got 10% off as DD has student card so I was quite pleased. I also saved a load at la Senza which Im not quite sure how and I saved 40 pounds at Morrisons having stocked up on Itune cards for xmas and birthdays next year. So although I spent a fair bit I also saved some.
DD just made some very nice gingerbread men that have gone down very well with everyone. I really need to get organised with my washing and house needs organising as cleaner coming tomorrow.
Hester - think your hubby has been treated dreadfully.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

LOL @ !!!!! cat! Does she want a new home? I got another mouse last night:eek:
Just added this weeks shopping to my spreadsheet and changed my signature to reflect this :eek::eek: I think I will go and mix half pint of powdered milk and shove in the bottle. DH would notice straight away, but he's not here. DS won't notice if I'm careful about no lumps!
Down to counting every penny now. Maybe I shouldn't be so tough on myself, as I base my budget on there being 3 meateaters or 3 meateaters and one veggie (although dd admitted today she has had a prawn buttie:eek::rotfl:-I asked if there was nothing else and she said she had just fancied it!). Bear in mind that we will be at least 8 from Wed 23rd to Tues 29th. Also 20ish for lunch on the 19th. It's a matter of discipline I suppose. It will focus my mind about whether I eat the chocolate I have bought to make Nigella's peanut butter squares!
I made chocolate blancmange tonight and we had it hot. DS loved it and I have to say the way I make it, it gives quite a good chocolate hit. made a pint, so we have some for tomorrow. DS will take left over pasta bake for lunch tomorrow. Dinner tomorrow will deffo be out of the freezer![SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Jayne - am loving Pixel in the tree
A most unusual tree ornament I must say!! Why not go the whole hog and put some tinsel round it's collar?!
purpleivy - I LOVE hot blancmange. Do you make it from scratch or using a packet? If you make it from scratch care to share the receipe? And stay away from the chocolate - it will be soooooo much nicer with the peanut butter squares

Hi all,
Just about recovered from my UK jaunt, we both really enjoyed ourselves and saw a bit more of London than we usually do....very impressed with quality and price of meals we had out and with your public transport....who mentioned Chelmsford, was there on Sunday, just to get a train.
Diva...I wish you luck with the removal of sudocreme.....DGS2 'polished' the outside of my car door with it when he was little and have never managed to remove the lot, just looks like a dirty patch now.
Haven't caught up yet so some of the comments are not making sense....Hester, gather that OH has been unfairly treated ...ageism is illegal but they will always find some other excuse.
Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies
