Hi all - a bit late for me, I had to get DH organised for work.

RedRuby - I do hope you hear soon. It must be nerve-wracking, especially if you were hoping to have moved by Christmas. I've been in the position before near Christmas, and it's not nice. Good luck - hope you hear something today.

Tru - I'll have the lot, please; the (((hugs))), the drink, and the Minstrels! Love the carol - one of my favourites!

MSD - I love crepe paper because it's cheap and versatile but, boy, does the colour run! I can imagine how messy it was for you.

Nmlc - happy birthday to your DS.

Hester - you and DH must be hopping mad, especially if, as you suspect, it's because of his age. I hope he gets the perfect job soon.

Well, OS-wise, I've got the BM and the WM on, and I've prepped the veggies for today's chicken casserole, which I'm making with a carcass that has loads of meat left on it. Last night I cooked pork chops in the Remoska, braising them in gravy with herbs, bay leaves (luckily, I have a huge bay tree here), and some red wine, did some saute potatoes with them, and it turned out really delicious.

Well, the BM has just beeped so I'd better get the dough out - I shall put half in a loaf tin, and the other half will be turned into rolls to go with the casserole later.

Hope you all have a great day.

Morning everyone, early doors for me today, OH is playing bowls at the indoor centre this morning and then we are off house sitting for a day in the house I used to look after. Back tomorrow, although I am taking my computer with me.

Its fine so far; thought we were due heavy rain today, hey ho...who takes any notice of the weather forecast when they cannot spot a hurricane coming!!

Hester: I am so sorry to hear your husband has lost his job after so short a time, the agency is to blame for sending him. In my experience this is something that happens regularly. I was once sent to a soliciotrs to work for two weeks when they had asked for a legal secretary; I was a MEDICAL secretary....fortunately I had the forsight to ask to see previous documents so I was able to type things as they should be done. The senior partner, who I knew, he was our family solicitor, saw me and asked what I was doing there, when I explained he looked over the work and asked me if I wanted to stay on to cover maternity leave, which I did. I resigned from the agency and went to work for the soliciotrs for 18 months......they were very accommodating as I did not work during school holidays I was allowed to work at home, they dropped stuff off to me each night and collected the days work which suited me fine. I used to go into the office once a week.

I picked up another job the same way, went for a few weeks to cover sickness and was asked to go back to cover the managers secretary when she went on holiday.......eventually worked for them for over 2 years. The children
were old enough to be left with a friend by then so I was able to work over the summer breaks. She worked in the evenings, so I had her children then.

Nothing from the Police about the vandalism at the allotments, guess it will go down as reported and nothing else.

Got to go. OH is ready to go and he needs to put the computer in the boot of the car. I am going down to meet him at the club for a roll and a drink before we go on to our little job.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Good morning all,
Thank you all for your kind words yesterday, i'm feeling slightly better today and have promised myself not to google it anymore!
Logan is still asleep in my bed and his neck doesn't seem to have swollen anymore over night.
I need to get back on track today as unfortunately with yesterdays events nothing much got done. We did have the curried chicken pilaf i had frozen last week for tea, and it defrosted fine.
Tonight will be hm lasagne, i make mine with cheese sauce instead of white as the kids prefer it that way, it has taken me years but i can now happily make sauces without having to either soak the pan for three days afterwards or throw it out!

Hugs for those in need and thank you again to everyone for their kind words yesterday xx

Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!

    Morning all :hello:

I really need to get my finger out today and get the front room cleaned and cleared ready for the decs to go up. (This has been a priority job for about a week now :o ) Beef casserole for dinner today, I picked up some Aberdeen Angus stewing steak reduced to 85p yesterday, so I am pleased with that. Also I have to see the caridiologist today so I need to cook something that can be left to it's own devices.

    Hester - hugs
Diva - try a dishwasher tablet to get the sudocrem out. It works for massage oil.
    Cranky- loved the cat story:D

Hugs to those that need them, have good day all

    Morning All,

First off, a big thanks to everyone who sent me a hug and the PM's yesterday. I'm feeling a bit better - not as emotional - but still a bit shaky.

nmlc - good news about your Dad. It must be a bit of a weight off your mind
heavenleigh - I had mumps (or rather mump as it was only on one side :rotfl:) when I was a puppy and I'm pretty sure I was vaccinated too.
Hester - so sorry to hear about you DH's job. It just doesn't seem right are you going to say something to the agency?

It's very mild here today, so much so I was stripping off by the time I got to work!

DH has a day off today and is visiting the Public Carriage Office to submit his application to become a black cab driver in our local area. This is the plan for if he gets the redundancy (which we will find out on the 18th - fingers crossed please everyone), but is also the plan if he does not, as he can't continue to work for his current organisation and maintain his mental health.

OS wise today I have to plan our meals from now until Christmas, using barely any freezer space! Wish me luck people!

Have a lovely day, hugs to all xx

Pink - I shall despatch DH right away to help DS2, DH is at college studying Rivers at the mo ;):D
Tru - Thanks for the pick me up :D
nmlc - Happy Birthday DS1 a teenager at last , glad the results were good. What WM have you got ?
Redruby - Hope you hear soon, it must be awful not being to organise

((((hester and hubby))) I have worked for agencies before and been told on my way home not to go in tomorrow or worst had it left on my answermachine.

Once I did my best to do the work even though the links to the network (was a council offshoot office)never worked which meant I coudlnt speed through the work at my normal speed which I thought was very unfair.

I have even had my own items there including next days lunch etc.So HUGS cos I know how it feels . You work like an absolute Trojan and get treated like garbage in return.
    What Would Bill Buchanan Do?
  • oops, nearly posted on the wrong thread as yesterday's is bumped.

Hester, it's just so bloody unfair. Thinking of you both. xxx
Zippy... Why not take your mind of it all and dedicate yourself to a few weeks of Scrabble.
Leigh... Hope you and DS are feeling better today. I echo what everyone else has said. xxx
Tru... Do your chickens go up trees? This is driving me nuts.
Moliere.. Well done for sticking at it through the renovations.
    Lovely stockings Bitsy. :T
Cranky, lol at the cat. Ours fell in love with OH's shoes when she came into season. Preferably while they were on his feet. :D

Hundreds of silly little jobs here today. I'm off to the city for an overnight to see my neurologist tommorrow so need to get things organised for while I'm gone. Think I'll cook them a chicken and leave it for them to have with salad.
So I need to get to Tesco and also the post office to get the cards posted though I still have more to make.:o
Slow roasted pork for tea and lots of laundry to get through but will break the monotony with a coffee with a friend later.

    Take care all.
