Kirstie's HomeMade Christmas --- anyone else watching???

Watched the programmes but had also unfortunately just read an interview with Kirsty in a current magazine in which she said she has lots of adults to buy for, so this Christmas she'll be getting them all espresso machines. Clashed rather with the home-made chutney & stockings ethos, I thought!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

No commercialism - other than dropping the name and location of the exclusive holiday let at every opportunity. Think there were fewer mentions of the house name in Brideshead Revisited.
If anyone saw her on BBC Questiontime, they may change their opinion of her.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Ooooh, I missed her on question time, what happened?!0

One ill-judged TV appearance isn't so bad. But if she becomes a Tory peer ...........:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
I did read somewhere that she is thinking about running as an MP somewhere somewhen, but for the Tories of course!

Bloody hell, her holiday let goes for £2,000 a week!!! She's hardly someone who needs to cut down for Christmas!
I have to say, I like her on Property Ladder, but the homemade Christmas show where she was making presents was a bit of a joke. I'd rather see one of the old style money savers from here do their own show!!!0 -

I missed the first programme, but after reading the thread on here watched it last night, and I'm sorry to say I loved it
Granted it's not your frugal homemade gifts, but they don't have to be cheaper do they
£75 for a metre of mohair for the teddy is expensive, but if you want to make something truly special why not buy the best if you can afford it. Just my thoughts, sorry if that upsets anyone - *runs for cover*

LOL you are actually pretty close, Victoria is my mum! The MLC part is short for my site, My Little Customs - I used my Twitter name as my screen name as its easy for me to remember.
I posted the link here and set up her blog for her as she is not the most forum / blog savvy - she has been rather overwhelmed by the attention her recipe has received, not to mention getting over the shock of having appeared on national TV - I dont think she expected any of this - today has been a lesson in the power of the internet for her :cheesy:0 -
Meh, homemade candles - did that in 1990s. Stars on top of mince pies - did that in 1986 HE lesson because I dropped the majority of the pastry on the floor. Doily thingy - that was done even before then. And the choccy truffles were a Christmas 1984 thing for school.
But - embroidery. I could have done without KA going on about how it was something posh ladies did. But including it - fair enough. Embroidery is lovely and even though they are done by machine, I love my embroidered bed linen. DD2 has just begged me to teach her how to do it (cue another Christmas present idea).
Finally, for the moment, you're wrong KA - the 1 person out of 10 who says they don't like chocolate is telling the truth. Because that person is me.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
