Thanks for bringing this up! I've had a card 14 months and always presumed you couldn't - oh all the missed wine points!
you're welcome "every little counts" as mr tesco says:rotfl:“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley

Sorry mate but I couldn't disagree more with all that.
Not sure what you mean by "caught" or "taking the pee" - what on earth are these people supposed to have done wrong? There was nothing in the T+Cs about maximum limits. And Tesco get the same money off the recycling company whether 1 person sends 5000 cartridges, or 5000 people each send 1 cartridge. It's all about recycling, innit? I thought the more stuff got recycled, the better. Surely everyone's a winner if someone sends in thousands of cartridges? How is anyone losing out?
It's the most clear cut case of breach of contract I've ever heard of. No reason why anyone would struggle putting a case like that before a court (and win).
Anyway, I'm 99.9% sure Tesco would never let the case reach a court hearing if a claim was served (and I speak from personal experience).
They will act tough when corresponding with you, but when their legal department looks at the case, they will immediately know that Tesco don't have a cat in hell's chance of successfully defending it.
And even if they thought there was only a slight chance of losing, they still wouldn't risk it going to a hearing because the publicity would be absolutely disastrous if they lost.
(In the same way that the banks haven't defended a single case of reclaimed bank charges).
You've got to remember that whichever jumped up little department manager has made this decision, they are not legally qualified, just like all those store managers and Tinpot Hitlers in the Dundee CS centre who gave us all that grief in the R+R days.
It's only after you make a court claim that someone with legal knowledge in their Cheshunt head office takes an objective realistic look at the case, and realises Tesco are in the wrong in the eyes of a court.
Thanks Taxiphil for your advice!! I have replied to Tesco and am waiting for the outcome. I dont feel I did anything wrong so will take it to court if I have to. Do you have any further advice from your experience with them?0 -
Hi, I think that you just put the Clubcard Plus number in the box that is there for the credit/debit card number.
This may help.
Mr T's own system would not accept my Clubcard+ number yesterday, so I rang HO Freephone and was told to put '00' first.
This worked.
Read the flyer in this month's mag., too - Code XX-PD96 for £10 off £50 grox, although this discount 'excludes the service charge' i.e. delivery. Can't be used with any other XX offer. Not exactly 'Boost CC Points discussion', but germane.

Hey Taxiphil - long time no talk old buddy.
You may well be right - just simply adding my humble opinion.
The way I see it is like the old R&R days - in a legal sense you could buy 30 XBOXs in one go - ask for R&R and be declined.
Legally they are wrong but from the Tesco point of view they see this as not buying goods within the 'spirit' of the Price Promise.
I don't agree - but I can see their point.
So I guess I was applying the same logic to the high numbers of recycling for the other 2 Dudes - much more than the reasonable man in the street.
Don't get me wrong Dudes - shag Tescos for all you can - but if you take it to the levels of excess then you risk bringing unwelcome attention to yourselves.
Good luck,
Duder0 -

Need some help. I have the Green tesco Clubcard Plus card (the one that gives you double points) I top it up in-store weekly and then pay for my groceries.
This week I hope to shop on tesco.com for the first time for my groceries. Can I use my green tesco Clubcard Plus card online to pay or is it only for use in-store and I'll need to pay with my tesco Credit Card instead?
many thanks in advance............:D
I've just phoned and requested an application form for the tesco club card plus account. I was told it would get me double points for the amount I spent but only using money paid in by direct debit. The operator said I could not get the points if I put money on my card in store before shopping as suggested in previous posts.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case and the rules have been changed?
Thanks in advance

Unless its changed this is wrong info.
I have a £15 direct debit per month and then always top up at CS each shop - I tend to write a list and know how much to put on depending on how many coupons I'm using etc. By the time I've wandered around Tescos the money has been registered and I pay at the till with my CC+ - I've always had the double points added OK.:D0 -
My DD is the £1 monthly minimum.
I work out my shopping bill and petrol, if need be, and 'bank' a suitable amount with CS, from Hole-in-Wall.
Remember, it is only instantly available by this method Monday to Fri. Over the weekend, it takes up to 48 hours to register, or the usual 4-5 working days if you make an online tfr.

A Credit Card Question?
Where it says you get 5 points for every £4 spent on your Clubcard Credit Card (4 plus one from personal finance) are the 4 added to your clubcard account at the till? and just to check you still get your 1 for every pound on the clubcard as normal.
Thanks0 -
Just to let you know that I 'recommended' my step daughter for online shopping to get the 500 points each. I used my spare email account, her address and her new clubcard details.
I have just done an online shop using her new details (she would never spend £50) but had it delivered to my address, no problem. It even said about the 500 points!
I used a £10 off your first order code too so bargain all the way! (xxjd7t).
500 points each for doing what I normally do. Have just sent off my application for Plus Card too.Ken Livingstone is my mother0 -

This sounds interesting.
Who's credit card did you use to pay? was it in your name or your stepdaughters??
