Just got this e-mail from Necter;
http://www.thomsondirectories.com/nectar/
Earn 50 Nectar points each
time you use your Thomson Local
Whether you are looking for florists, hairdressers, decorators, double glazing or hundreds of other businesses, we'll give you 50 points every time you call a Nectar affiliate advertiser.*
Collecting points is easy, just look out for ads that feature the Nectar logo from January 2007 and call on the number provided. You will be prompted to enter your Nectar account number using your telephone keypad, before being connected to the advertiser. We'll then award 50 Nectar points to your account, just for calling them. It's that simple!

Thanks Cookie Monster!!! Nice spot!
It might be an idea for people to post the relevant numbers on here, preferably not the dreaded 0870 numbers. I never use my Thompson Directory, and without one to hand, I'm not sure how much of a trawl it'll be to find the maximum 20 nectar affiliated advertisers.
But, another 1000 points will be a big help for me, I'm saving for enough points for a Eurostar return to Paris in the spring for me and my train-fixated 4 y.o. lad.
Again, thanks for a great spot OP

Hi,
I have just joined Nectar and wanted to join tns surveys, but I can only do so if someone invites me. Only people on a panel can do so and I was hoping that you could invite. Thanking you in advance for any help that you can provide.0 -
Is it definitely better value to use Nectar points for things other than your shopping in store?0

Don't think you have to be invited anymore, there is a link on the nectar site on the "collect points" page.

At present, you get 2000 nectar points with new membrship with AA and double points for renewals. Do it via nectar web site and it will be on the home page or go through the 'collection' section. I also google n=free nectar points every now and again to see if anyone is giving them away0

But AA can be very far from the best deal for cover even with extra nectar points so be sure and do a comparison first (factoring in the value of points). It is so easy to get carried away. Points are good, particularly on stuff you buy anyway, but saving real money is better.0

I get what you're saying, but if you used Quidco instead you'd get a far better return on your money - £10 off (AA) £25 off (RAC)
http://www.quidco.com/aa-uk/

Sometimes Nectar isn't always the most competititve, and I'd always check quidco first, and then use it and pay with your nectar AMEX card. Double win! It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0
