I am so sorry but I can't remember. It was about 4 weeks I think - we booked flights and first night hotel in Miami with the airmiles.
Thanks for that. I just found out its a voucher you get, not just an increase to your balance, though you can use it with others included.
I looks like my trip to Oz will come forward as the voucher lasts only a year apparently. (not seen yet):cool:Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!0 -
I received the points voucher earlier in the year. I have to spend it all by 31st Dec and there are condiions. I MUST book at least one night in a hotel via airmiles and so generally this wipes out over half of the 'free' 1500 miles. I wonder how many people actually use their vouchers.0

I have not seen this before but on the Airmiles site there are two competitions presently.
One is for 500 miles for completing a survey on how the website looks, not much chance of winning as there is but one prize.
The other, a bit better is a share in Millions of miles being given away for signing up for email notifications. No end date to this so dip in.
I wont post this on competitions as its only of interest to Airmiles types.Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!0 -
The problem we have is that there is availability for 2 people but not for a family of 4, to the extent we were considering booking on 2 separate days and going in pairs which is obviously far from ideal. We also considered 2 of us going to newark and 2 to jfk but haven't yet found a three week spread of dates, as we want to go for 3 weeks to give us time for a road trip.
Currently OH in touch with airmiles who are going to get back to us today (allegedly!)
I suggest that you speak to an Air Miles flight sales person on the phone (see if there is a current number that works on the https://www.saynoto0870.com website if you want avoid the expense of an 0844 call that will not be part of any inclusive minutes plan you have) and tell them your requirements and ask if they can find the number of extra seats you need on any of the dates where you have already found availability.
On occasion they are able to get the odd extra seat or two released to Air Miles availability in this kind of situation to allow things like a family group booking to go ahead. Although this doesn't really usually ever happen on a route with far too few Air Miles seats available like LCY to PMI its far more likely on a route with a lot of flights and seats like LHR to NYC
The telephone sales staff do seem very keen to hunt around over several days and try locate the appropriate seats on the dates you are after for somebody in your kind of situation. Or is that what your Other Half is already doing with them?0 -
Thanks for the comments nongeographicalman. Amazingly although the phone staff were not especially helpful and finally said we were unlikely to get a flight back in the school holidays - and we were about to book flights from london to newark and back 2 people and london to jfk and back 2 people on the same days in July and August 2011, before we did this I thought I had better check the other airports on our circular route. Yippee I got 3 weeks and 1 day flying to DC for 4! The last time I checked DC (which was our original plan) it was harder to get flights to than NY but this was looking in June 2011 which was all that was showing at the time. So I had given up more or less, we are now all ecstatically happy except for the fact that we fly out at the beginning of the school hols, when BA traditionally go on strike! Oh well.
Thanks for everyones comments. Hope you all get your flights too.0 -

New availability seems to be released quite regularly each week or two on transatlantic flights and flights from the UK down to Australia, even though the total availability at any one time in peak periods is never that good. This contrasts with routes out of London City to sunshine destinations where there are hardly any seats on Air Miles at the start of the season and for the few that there are are on a handful of dates when they are gone they then are most definitely gone and no replacement seats are ever added.:(
In any event I'm pleased to hear that its all worked out for you and I trust that you have actually booked those four seats as they definitely won't hang around for long.
P.S. I should have added that you must have been especially frustrated during your efforts to book by the totally stupid and quite unnecessary Air Miles restriction (introduced when the split with BA Miles as a superior scheme occurred) on booking one way flights. I would imagine the trip you have in mind is absolutely perfect for two One Way flights and that your task in booking would have been far easier had such flight combinations been allowed.0 -

These 'tickets' come out of the machine with the receipt on occasion; not always. The ones I got today are 200 extra points on a £20 Orange Top-Up (available at the till) valid until 26/09/10, and also I got one I've not seen before, for Triple Points on your entire shopping bill in the store of issue; in one transaction, of course! There are some exceptions, though, on items bought, e.g., excludes infant milk formulae, lottery, prescription medicines and others. But for all your household needs and food and drink you can buy a shedload and get triple points; valid until 12/09/10, in the one transaction.
Btw, on the Boost Your Tesco Clubcard Points Discussion forum you should get loads of ideas, but the thread is closed, for some reason. Just have a good read through, looking back on it:
