To get flights to the US in the school holidays (summer 2011) we went on the site everyday for about 2 months to see if flights were available. Often there were flights for only 2 people. Tried 5 airports over there daily.
Only recommendation - keep trying daily and be flexible with exact dates and times. HTH
  • Just got my 1500 free miles for the AMEX today.

It is a voucher for 1500 miles and can be added to existing miles for extra distance. The voucher expires May 11 so not long if you are aiming to save a large number for a Sydney trip.
Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!

    Hi everybody,

I just flew to Mexico and back with Thomas Cook and would like to know if there is anyway of obtaining any air miles or rewards for the flight?

I am a BA Miles and Airmiles member but the only mention of Thomas Cook I have found relates to package holidays on Airmiles. Can I gain any rewards from the flight alone?

    Thanks

I think you can probably use Air Miles to obtain cash discounts to book more charter flights or holidays with Thomas Cook UK but you are unlikely to be able to collect any Air Miles by flying with Thomas Cook UK

However according to https://www.tsbot.de/company_details_52_condor--2f-thomas-cook-airlines_eng.html you do seem to be able to earn Lufthansa Miles & More or Webmiles for flying with the German part of Thomas Cook Airlines otherwise known as Condor. However I do not believe this applies to the British operated part of Thomas Cook Airlines. Perhaps you want write to Thomas Cook's Chief Executive suggesting they also need to have an arrangement for earning miles on British miles schemes.
  • Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can give me any clear, uncomplicated advice.
We're about to undertake renovations on our flat and we've budgeted about £30,000 (which we have sitting in our bank account now).
Is it worth playing for the building work on a credit card, pay it off every month etc, and pick up the resulting airmiles?
If so, can anyone recommend a card to apply for?
And is this airmiles thing really worth doing for the £30,000 we have to spend? How far will that get us? A pair of tickets to New York?
    Thanks for the help

I do all my spending on an airmiles type card, and it does add up. There are several options available to you, if you have a look at the cards available from American Express that is a good starting point.
    Gone ... or have I?

just a thought but your builder (if a small business) may not take credit cards, so be careful. Also, I believe some credit cards don't offer an interest free period? If the one you used did have an interest free period and also airmiles, and you paid off monthly, it seems like a good idea. However can't offer any advice as to which card, sorry.

Do not exchange your Tesco Clubcard vouchers for airmiles! Use them for Tesco deals instead. For example a Tesco clubcard voucher worth £2.50 can be exchanged for 60 airmiles (monetary value of approximately £4.68), however, if exchanged for a clubcard deal this would be worth £10.

So I have family in Malta and visit them every year I cant afford to pay for a flight the only way is using airmiles from Tesco vouchers I get more than enough for a free flight for 2 people every year and some spare I converted them in to restraunt vouchers so if your saying do not convert tesco vouchers in to airmiles is there any other way to get a free flight or rearly cheap one
