    Hi,
Does anyone know if you can exchange Airmiles for ferries, please? Have looked at the Airmiles website, which lists ferries, but just says to call an expensive telephone number to get a price for a ferry crossing. Have looked in the forums for here to find the answer but can't see it, so sorry if it's already been posted elsewhere.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, I just rung them about the same.

Basically they will first request the price from the ferry operator (from comparison the same price as if you buy just in cash) and then you can pay partially or fully with airmiles... I think it works our like 1000 miles = £50 or £60 off the price.
  • So far, by just using my Lloyds Airmiles CC (cleared every month in full) and canny shopping in Tescos I've used my airmiles for:

    2 x Malaga

    2 x Munich

    2 x Antigua

    5 x Rome

Every purchase my wife and I make goes on either Amex or Mastercard and the miles soon pile up.

The airmiles site hasn't updated its dates for 2011 for at least a couple of weeks, and we are desperate to book nexts years flights. Anybody know why they are so erratic?

    We've booked flights for July/August 2011 already.

Thats interesting, I tried a different airport (Boston) and managed to get a return flight in early august. NY is showing nothing at all in August for airmiles at either airport, neither is Washington. Will have to investigate further I suppose and see if theres anywhere else 5000 miles will get us on the east coast.

For anyone collecting Tesco Clubcard points they would be far better advised to redeem £10 of Clubcard vouchers in to £40 of Clubcard rewards tokens as these can then be used directly to book with Eurotunnel, Irish Ferries, P & O, Stena Line and Wightlink. £50 of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers will be needed for 1,000 Air Miles at the new lower exchange rate but those £50 of Clubcard Vouchers could instead be turned directly in to £200 of ferry travel via Clubcard reward tokens.

In other words you can directly exchange Tesco Clubcard vouchers in to ferry tickets at a four times higher exchange rate than is available if they are converted in to Air Miles and then turned in to ferry tickets. The only potential problem is with Clubcard vouchers expring after two years and quite a lot of vouchers being needed for many ferry crossings. By contrast Air Miles never expire so long as you collect one air mile per year..........

    See https://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294967191&bid=HTravel for more information.
