If you missed out on this, Tesco have a Dighome model for £69.95 it is twin tuner 80G model (instore only). You can watch one and record one, however you can find firmware on the internet to allow dual recording and instructions to upgrade the HD to 160GB.0

Upgrade the HD from 80GB to 160GB? Thats impossible! Maybe you mean 'upgrade'/unlock Long/Short Play which compressions/gives you more recording time.
I was at the checkout to buy 2 yesterday and then read the reviews.
Changed my mind, due to the A LOT of bad reviews and hassle it will be sending it back after a month or 2!
Cheapest product in a range isn't always the best(!!) especially with electronic goods - don't confuse what Im saying with finding the CHEAPEST price for a specific item, which can be great on the web.
BUYERS of this, please let us know how you get on with your units, will be interesting to see if I made the right choice in holding off! If they are good as gold, will buy one when in stock! :-)0 -

I read mtx512's post differently, as: you can find a firmware update on the net and you can also find instructions on how to upgrade the HD. That's certainly possible of course, but involves buying a new 160gb HD and sticking it in the place of the old one! Maybe that clarifies things a bit.0 -
these freeview sets that the op posted are bk with 289 bk in stock for those who thought they would miss out. i can't afford it which is a shame but thought i'd pass it on

Does anyone know if there are there any cables to buy and if so what are they.0
-
Yeah, they don't come with any SCART cables.
If you want to perform a firmware update you'll probably need a "null-modem" 9pin female to PC COM (usually 9pin female) cable.0 -
Hello, can someone who has ordered one of these from microdirect tell me what the power supply looks like? Is it built into the plug or is it between the plug and the pvr? I'm trying to work out if the unit is being sold with the original (problematic) power supplies or the uprated (but bulkier) ones. Is there a power rating on the power supply?
Also, if you choose to record something from the on-screen programme guide, can you adjust the end times (eg to add 2 mins for BBC2)?
Thanks...0 -
Not set mine up yet but I believe they are different as the power supply seems new and confirms to RoHS.
It's an RRC Power Solutions LAD6019AB5
Input 100 - 240 1.5A
Output 12V 5.0A (60W)
It's NOT built into the plug.0 -
OK thanks, that sounds good - apparently the original PSU was only rated at 2 amps which caused problems.0

Thought id mention that Asda are doing the Digihome PVR80 for £69.97 down from £89.97..... http://www.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Digihome_PVR_80__6515322 according to my lady friend Asda are having a clear out (Nationwide?) to make room for new stock. Might be worth a look?So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0
