I forgot to mention above that it was a digihome model PVR80 that I got from dabs.com0

I got one of these delivered yesterday and am having problems with the picture breaking up on all channels. I went into the setup screen to check signal strength and both tuners reported 67% but the errors were off the scale and it said that the signal was corrupted. I checked all connections and reset the unit but still no improvement.
It's not my rooftop aerial as it is a new 'Freeview approved' high gain type and my other Freeview box works perfectly with it.
I ordered one of these too and have the same problem - 80% of the channels are blocky/unwatchable. BBC and a few others are fine.
The box it has replaced - Goodmans GDB3 (moved upstairs) works fine, well except that Channel 5 channels are a bit iffy.
Could the reception quality of the receiver differ so much? Should I invest in a new aerial or is it the box?
Aside, the overall reception issue. I've recorded some programmes. It seems fine. The EPG guide is not as good (user friendly) as on the Goodmans. It would be good if PDC was available as part of the software offering.0 -
These are back in stock again...266 of them...

Just ordered one when I got their reminder email through.
Now 210 left.
I notice that although I used Google Checkout it did not allow for the £10 credit - any ideas?0 -
as mentioned several times on this thread, MicroDirect do not appear to have been selected for the £10-off promotion by Google. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

If you go through Quidco, you can get cash back for MicroDirect though0 -
Most if not all the problems have been sorted, with a heftier power supply and firmware updates.
Digifusion is owned by one of the Pace "founding twins", who fell out, separated and he set up this firm to expand the Freeview versions of the Sky+ box they invented. So a reasonable pedigree.
Explains the PSU problem then... all of my (and friends') PACE satellite receivers had power supply failures at some point. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Stupid Question maybe... I have just bought a tv with in-built freeview - would i need to buy one of these PVR/Freeview combo boxes or are PVR only boxes available which would record from my in-built Freeview? - if so any recommendations and best prices appreciated!
I hope this makes sense regards Huggins0
