I recently bought the Digifusion FVRT 100 40GB (refurbished) and it's been the best piece of kit I've bought in a long time.
Both tuners work perfectly, it has a 14-day guide which updates everyday, the functions are excellent, and 40GB is plenty of space. I didn't think I would have enough room and was planning on doing an upgrade myself as I hear the Digifusion's are really easy to wip the Hard-drive out and stick a better one in, however I have not needed to do that.
I think I paid about £50 for mine from micro-direct, however they are much cheaper now as mentioned above (although sounds like out of stock currently) I'd keep your eyes out for them.
I would highly recommend this PVR. You only need one aerial to have both tuners working which makes it really easy to use. You can watch one channel and record another, record 2 channels and watch a recording, you can rewind/pause the current channel you are watching. And the library function stores all you're programs with their full descriptions and dates, etc.
I can't speak highly enough of this item.0 -
For what it's worth I had the DigiFusion FVRT100 back in Summer 2005 and it was terrible.
The features were good like twin tuner etc but it kept locking up and requiring a full power off at the mains to reset it. Also the menu system/programme guide wasn't great. In the end after about 5 months it locked up and refused to switch back on so it went back to the shop for a refund.
If I were to buy another I'd be buying a Humax one.0 -
I am having exactly the same issue with digifusion fvrt100 as "mitchb" in his post #68. I got it from MicroDirect a couple of days ago, it's in good condition externally but obviously either firmware or the actuall unit is faulty. I am going to try the new firmware tonight and see if it makes any difference, not quite sure whether I should buy the new hard drive and replace it if the firmware is not working, don't really want to spend time "fixing" it if the actual unit (electronics) is faulty....
Overall, not really impressed with the unit.
I have HUMAX which I use with my other TV and have to say it's been great since I bought it more than a year ago.0 -
Mine arrive today, well packaged, connected it up, got a load of stations then used the aerial setup to move the aerial into a better position (could do with 2 people for that!)
Im impressed, signal strength over 75%, not noisy, records at SP (read other posts), power supply 5a so that should cure that problem
All in all a very good item
I see Netto have a single tuner 40hr version in this week
Thanks all

OKAY!
Here's one for the Barrack Room Lawyers to debate!
How is the legal situation affected by the regular comment "If you want to record the whole series you can set this on your digital recorder." which BBC continuity announcers are making most days (usually just as Eastenders is starting)
Are they encouraging people to break the law????

This one now has a 5 amp power supply giving 60 watts, so should be ok, and there have been software updates too, so the prog guide should be better too.ac's lovechild0 -
Ive just taken delivery of my digifusion fvrt100
Im having a problem with tuner 2 as it shows 0% signal and errors off the scale.
Tuner 1 shows between 65 - 70%.
There is a message to the the signal is weak and corrupted.
do you think this is this why tuner 2 shows at 0, should it not at least show something as a signal is their?
When i try changing tuner 2 to the same frequancy as tuner 1, it doesnt make any difference.
I've got the same issue. My signal strength is around 70% also.
Have you found a resolution?0 -
I got one of these delivered yesterday and am having problems with the picture breaking up on all channels. I went into the setup screen to check signal strength and both tuners reported 67% but the errors were off the scale and it said that the signal was corrupted. I checked all connections and reset the unit but still no improvement.
It's not my rooftop aerial as it is a new 'Freeview approved' high gain type and my other Freeview box works perfectly with it.0 -
I got the twin tuner freeview box with 80gb hard disk recorder from dabs.com. The quality is really good and I taped a prog I wanted to keep onto my video by recording on my video recorder while playing the piece I had recorded on the freeview box. The only problem I have is if you do instant recording you need to record the prog after the one you want because the machine only records the time the prog is on for and so often the channels run late but you can set the timer for a few minutes extra, it is so easy to record, also sometimes the machine goes blank and I have to reboot it but it only takes a few minutes. The other thing is the instruction manual is a photocopy and parts are illegible I am waiting for a better copy from the manufacturers. Also the remote control was not the one pictured in the manual. Having said all that I would never go back to video recorders and it is great to record one freeview channel and watch another. Highly recommended.0
