Firefox - Top of the page you will find subheadings - file, edit etc. Click on tools, go down to and click on clear recent history, a pop-up box appears - make sure the clear cookies has a tick next to it and press the clear now button.

Internet Ex - click on the tools heading at the top of the page, scroll down and click on internet options, pop-up box appears, in the general tab click on the delete button under the subheading browsing history, another pop-up box appears, untick all the little boxes except the preserve favs website and the cookies box (must have a tick in these two) then press the delete button.

  • I've had to cut a lot of hours out of a lot of the stores I oversee as we aren't expecting anything massive from the first day of sale

The town and city stores will suffer the most as many shopping centres and major department stores will be closed, retail parks will benefit

Personally think we should have waited until the Monday 28th and gone for it then and wrote off the Boxing Day and the Sunday (6 hour trade is worthless) especially since it has lost us a lot of good staff after the way Head Office have handled the Boxing Day saga.

It would have been nice for the staff to have Boxing day off, my husband used to be a retail manager and I hardly saw him over Christmas.

We are a 24/7 selfish society. There are always people working somewhere, so Xmas/Boxing day is unfair to them too. Pubs are open for example, will feeling pity for the staff stop you going? Internet shopping is thriving and some retailers start sales Xmas day, will that prevent some people from phoning customer services because their order can't be taken? I could go on!

I feel sorry for all workers for having to work over the Xmas period but if the alternative is me staying at home 24/3 as everything is closed, I'm glad your working. I thank you for working and I promise I won't make your day hell by being awkward, drunk or rude.

I would still prefer most things to be shut on Sundays (not because of religion) so families could spend time together, but that will never be.

    Mr Scrooge....

Indeed, Next as a company are worried about the profit on Boxing Day. It's obviously not going to be as big as 'normal' sales as in some areas there's no public transport at all and limited shopping opportunities in some towns and cities

Alas...this is where the grumbling has come in. Staff aren't being paid for taxis, hence the later start in some areas and company sick pay won't be paid, only SSP. Staff have been told to make their own way into stores at their own expense and if they don't make it then its gross misconduct and its goodbye

We've lost a lot of goodwill on this from the staff, especially the part time staff and the full timers with long serving records when you consider that the temps are all on minimum wage and get relatively public holiday pay their entire wage could be spent on taxis to actually get to work.

The way I'd have done it..

Boxing Day Online sale, release of limited stock.
Sunday, sale launches in Scotland where this is no restriction and stock is replenished on Online sale
All England and Wales staff to work Sunday 27th to set store up for sale
England and Wales launches Sale 5am on Monday 28th, website sale fully live

This was one of the options but was voted down
