    Morning all,

More rain due here later , but a change in the weather by the end of the week, colder and dry :T

Lots to do today, hopefully we will hear today about the move date, and I can start to get organised properly, I think I will start to pack up the kitchen today, just leave the bits we need for the moment.

I am also going to cook the roast chicken for tea, with roasties and veg. Two loads to go in the wm, and I need to have a good rummage through the freezer and meal plan.

I also need to have a good tidy and clean through, hoover and mop floors.

Sistercas, I hope you and your dd feel better soon, dd and I have the same thing, its not nice xx

Hugs where needed, have good days xx

    best of luck today PP

lovely weekend with OH - probably the last time i'll see him before Xmas now as I'm busy with www.crisis.org the next two weekends. He's coming for Christmas as is Mr Caring Sharing and his gf - should be fun! The gf, I'm informed, will only eat Organic either from waitrose or her allotment - oh dear - might suggest a packed lunch. She is bringing her own stuffing, xmas pudding and veggies as it won't be Christmas without them - funny that - it always has been before. Mr Caring Sharing is making a christmas cake - I told him that I already had the ingredients and he suggested a bake-off with the loser admitting all fault in our ex-relationship. I have declined :) but wonder if his cake is going to come out all bitter and twisted LOL

I have actually started the xmas shopping - dd(13) decided that we should all put the budget right down - bless her - Mr Caring Sharing and I are only allowed to spend 20 per person, the older girls a tenner and dd a fiver - I ussually spend more than that on stockings alone so it's a real challenge. I'm not good at christmas but knowing that no one is spending stupid amounts is a real weight off my shoulders

tea tonight will be spag bol - dd made it in food technology last week and is going to do a repeat performance - yay!
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Dark and dry out there at the moment but rain later I think.

Am usually up at this time but not all dressed and ready for work, reason I am today is that landlord came round yesterday to let us know we are having a new kitchen window today, he seemed a bit put out that one of us couldn't just take the day off, so is asking his man to come early, he better not be too early, its too dark to do anything.

Diva - link to the bunting
hope I've done that right, first time I've tried doing a 'wordy' linky :D

Better go now and clear the draining board and window ledge.

Good Morning all, I had a great afternoon at the Greenwich meet and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I am just waiting for DGD Holly to arrive for breakfast, she is on placement everyday this week and two days next so granny is making sure she starts the day with a proper breakfast. She is a bit of a picky eater at home but tends to use her pickiness to get her own way with Mum.No such nonsense at Grannies house ,and she knows it.She has always cleaned her plate when eating here.I think I'll do her boiled egg and soldiers this morning .Although 16 she will scoff that, as have all of my tribe at different times in their lives.
My gorgeous DGS Danny is working in London this week so I will have to ensure that the cake tins are filled for when he comes home.He is on the late turn this week, well until Thursday anyway, then he has a day off as he is filming, so he doesn't have to start until 10.00 and doesn't finish until 7.00. so he won't be home until at least 8.45.On Friday he and his pal are making a short film at my DD's special needs school to show prospective parents what the school is like and what it does to help the children. They won't get paid by the local LEA, but the experience is what they want.he will go far that boy.
DGD Katie is still mooning about in the throes of first love with her Tommy.Bless her, I bet we can all remember being sweet 16 and in that dreamy daft state. She went out last night with him, and her next brother down Ben was getting quite indignant that because she was off out he had to help do the washing up.But then he is only almost 14 and very down to earth and young love hasn't hit him yet,but it will soon I expect. he is doing well with his charity work at the bookshop on Saturday mornings. He is determined to get his DoE award.I also think he quite enjoys working there as well. With the weather not being too good he can't go fishing anyway so it does give him something to do on a Saturday morning. I shall be doing some baking today for the cake tins ,then tonight I am off to uni for my last class before breaking up for Christmas. My essay is done and dusted so no worries there.Tonight we are studying famine in the U.K during the mid 19th century. Not very Christmassy I know but I think I shall probably set my next essay around it.
Well time to get a wriggle on.
Good luck with your mammogram Penpin
and good news MSD that you could speak to Tris.We are all following his progress with you on here and our prayers are with you .
Have a great day everyone ,even though the forecast isn't too good at the moment
    Cheers JackieO

Monday morning already! how does that roll round so quickly when the rest of the week goes so slowly? Had a fab weekend away with friends although as I suspected food and drink featured quite heavily! Food was lovely but did drink rather more than I''m now used to - but it's not a regular thing so enjoyed and am now back to being good. Did some good Christmas shopping on Saturday - made use of the Boots 3 for 2 offer, and also got my parents and OH's parents presents - so have most sorted now - except my DS1 and DS2! They both know what they want though so by the end of this week should hopefully have pressies sorted. Bought a gorgeous pair of bootcut jeans in M&S for £12 - and they fit beautifully - and they make my legs look slimmer - I'm going to get another pair locally if the M&S in the next town has them in stock. I now have some trousers and a skirt that fit! Didn't actually spend ridiculous amounts of money at the weekend either, all the pressies bought except both sets of parents were paid for by cash - so no nasty extras added on to credit card!

We have smoked sausage with pasta in a creme fraiche sauce for dinner tonight - a real fav in our house and have menu planned for the rest of the week - so should be reasonably well organised - as have a hectic week.

Nothing much else to say, have a good week everyone.

Have to go now, keep safe and well, hugs to those that need them.

shoulder of pork and it was horrible.. really fatty. So disappointed in that. Am in two minds whether to mention it to Tescos as we usually buy from there but this one was not good.

Sorry to hear about the pork Diva, I looked at that but when i saw it was shoulder I gave it a miss. Pork shoulder is always fatty and Tesco do not trim it before selling. I used to butcher once. Always buy leg. Sainsbury had leg on offer last week and beef too...

Pork shoulder is not always fatty  We've just raised a Gloucester Old spot, and her shoulder certainly isn't, and traditional breeds are generally fattier than modern hybrids ;)

Diva - do you have a butcher close by; I no longer buy meat from any supermarket, as IMHO it's all rubbish :D

When you cook it, I find shoulder really benefits from slow cooking. I do mine on a bed of roughly chopped roots, in the Rayburn at about gas 2, for several hours.

In today's Advent calendar - a train  Not very festive :rotfl:

Off to work today, so HM cranberry, pork and port burgers, HM bread rolls and salad for supper :T

MSD - Blackjack vodka is simply gorgeous and tastes just like eating the sweets...with an extra kick!

I have calmed down slightly after my outrage at someones comments at a post of mine on another thread but I didn't sleep great I kept waking up very irritated!

Anyway....strange start to the day today as I usually work Mondays but I'm doing Tuesday-Friday for the next two weeks so making the most of it and I have a few MS jobs lined up.

Needs to get on and get the troops organised

Hope everyone has a great day
