Greenbee - you want pine cones? There's a ton of them at the bottom of my garden and they regularly replenish. Anytime you want some, you're more than welcome to come visit.

And with your woodburner - have you tried a mix of wood and coal - whenever I've lit fires, I've always found that's the best combination.

Wow.. I really got behind this week, not so good for my first week of trying, but I do have excuses!

Mon - Swine flu injection, my arm felt like it'd been ram raided..
Tue - Arm still sore and unwell from jab
Wed/Thur - Mum and step father here for visit, didn't actually spend any time at home between 8am and 10pm
Fri/Sat/Sun - Hell broke loose; sister split up with boyfriend as is being kicked out with the baby! I've been on the phone a lot reassuring her and trying to get her to come stay with me. Also, little brother has no money and no electricity.. will be arriving shortly to stay for a few days.

Now - let's start at level 1, item 1, and see how far I get..... Wish me luck.

Would anyone like any extra children? I have really had enough of them being messy and grotty this week..

Oh.. and KH wants them after school tomorrow I said he can have them IF they are back by 7 as they have to go to bed.. no response.. SHOCKER!!! He can collect them from school if he likes.. but the later he gets them the less time he'll have with them.

Oooh... yes please :D:D:D Looks like I'll be making a trip to the south coast soon then... how are you fixed for the new year? I think you might be right about the wood and coal - if I can use the wood to get lots of flames then the coal should light properly and I can leave that in to keep it going while I'm out. Mind you, I can use it continuously unless a. I have vast amounts of storage and b. I get an ash can to put hot ashes in. At the moment I have to let it cool to take the ash out. And I can see the house will be a lot dirtier from now on

It's your first week, so you're not supposed to be trying for more than Level one. If you just list this, the whole thing looks a lot more manageable! Still... it looks as if you'll have a couple of extra helpers imminently! You could make it part of the deal in lieu of rent!

Yes I did make it. No I don't do it for a living (far too much like hard work!). I'm glad you like it - its what I do to relax and destress and forget about work.

    OK... where's my list ...

I have to say the place actually doesn't look that bad now. Kitchen is always a bit chaotic unless I have people round, and the utility room won't improve much until the shed situation is sorted out. I have a bit of a paperwork backlog in the study, but I suspect that will be sorted out tomorrow as a displacement activity for work... and I do have yet another pile of laundry to do, which I hope to work my way through methodically (i.e. wash, dry, iron and THEN put the next wash on) during the week.
