methekids ...wow you must be feeling absolutely drained
    Kazm aargh on your behalf

Well we have been on an expedition

Motor Spares to ask about headlight - I'm NOT going to be able to fit it myself; they will do it and I *may* be charged depending on time...
so I will take it down when I can fit it in...the headlight's gone on the offside, AND the sidelight on the nearside has been gone a while...last time it cost me £60 as the bumper had to be taken off to access it  so I might get two-for-one IYSWIM

then we went to mum's I picked up cheque for what I have paid out for for her less what she has paid out for for me, more cards, book and delivered the whoopsied xmas pudding bought after LAST xmas to go to my sisters where we are having xmas (they have VERY long dates on them...)

Then B&Q to look for a christmas tree - total failure they have sold out BUT have decs reduced so got the angel te light holder of the adverts cos I liked it (half price) and letters to spell out noel half price less a quid due to damaged packaging (I asked) also found some tiles I really liked and DD liked them too so think we'll leave it there...;)
Then went to homebase...didn't find a new 'big' tree but got a little one for the dining room (well 3 ft) half price, box of 50 baubles for a fiver and tinsel - balls and tinsel silver so we will have TWO trees - one colour co-ordinated (green with silver trimmings and white lights) and one like I like with EVERYTHING on and NOTHING matching all the colours of the rainbow and old favourites and my new London ornament.
(My white lights are in my classroom so I'll be bringing them home tomorrow...)
then bought present for my jobshare partner which is a BIT more imaginative (and expensive) than the box of chocs I usually get her as she spoils DS and DD. Need to wrap that and take it in.

I am somewhat pooped, dining room is a mess again and needs tidying so a restorative coffee and a couple of Twinks and off I go.

DS hasn't found the twinks yet and I baked them on Thursday:rolleyes:

It's raining so we can't bury Sahara Gerbil...and I cried again this morning - DD has put her wooden cube and log in for DS's gerbil and it made me feel so sad.

    Afternoon all,

Had a lovely morning with OH after the troubles of the last few days. We broke down on the way to my M&D's on Friday night in OH's car, so we left it just down the road from LadyL when it died. We had to go back after OH finished work as Greenflag were meant to come out for a timed appointment to try and fix it - they took over an hour to get there, but I couldn't leave the car cos we didn't know what time they'd arrive. We were both freezing, as I didn't want to leave my engine running for over an hour, and I actuall fell asleep at one point! Anyway, when they turned up, I left OH with them and I went to do the food shopping. They couldn't fix it, so they towed it home for us. OH went to get a couple of parts at Halfords today and after that we went to Starbucks for fruit toast and eggnog latte (for me) and ordinary latte for OH. Got my Dad a xmas pressie in town at one of the craft markets - these herb and spice mixes that you add to yoghurt to make yummy dips. OH is tinkering with the car at the moment - hope he manages to get it started!

Just eaten lunch (pitta bread filled with falafel and tzatziki) and am off to get my cup of tea and jam doughnut!

Looking forward to meeting up with LadyL next weekend to get my cards. She's in Brighton today watching a concert tonight - hope she's wrapped up warm, cos it's very chilly out there today.

A load of washing in the WM and DW just cleaned lunchboxes etc. Need to hoover around the house and desperately need to clean bathroom, as it's not up to my standards at all!

    Anyone fancy a HHC 3.30-4.00pm?

Hugs to all, and belated happy birthdays to those who've celebrated this week.

Also, thanks to lemanie and 3tabbycats for their ecards.

Woohoo - OH has fixed his car, and it only cost him £20 for a new rotary arm and distributor cap.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Methekids - nice to see you - big hugs on the stress xxx
Kazm - could you threaten DD with the binbags - if it's not all sorted by xyz time you're going in with a shovel and bin bags and it's all being thrown away? (you don't have to throw it away - you could just hide it and sort through it at your own pace)

Well, I've not really done much today so far. I started off doing a bit of writing but by lunchtime I was nodding off again so I just took myself to bed for an hour. I've been really tired all week so I guess it's best to pace myself.

if it's a quick job they won't charge at all - if, as I suspect, things have to be removed then time will be spent and a charge will be paid BUT I may ring up my normal mechanic and see what he'd charge, too...

kaz - the bin bags have worked in this house before hence why DD1 (Age 11) has spent all afternoon on her bedroom have to say she has made a good job of it, DD2 has until 6 to do hers or i go in with the black bags and if its not in its right place then it belongs to me.

I have managed a couple of hours study - have an assignment due on the 4th but want it out of the way before then, OH has been to the tip with a car load and has almost finished clearing out the garage.

Need to find my list to see whats left.
