Ok if you insist..lol.

Alan Carr wanted to know how your other half proposed so I popped mine through as a joke. Dave proposed on Victoria underground station, in our lunch break, on the way back to Sloane Square. He's still as romantic....NOT!!! We have been together 22 years and I love him dearly :)

It was actually a spur of the moment thing sending it in as I really didn't think it would be read out.

Dave said that's the third time I have had something read out on the radio - I was rung up on my wedding day by our local DJ and ended up speaking live on radio before my wedding, eeeps!! I sent a postcard from our honeymoon into the DJ, as requested, and this was read out on the radio when we got back home.. And now this :D

Clearly a marriage made in heaven and also suitable for media land. Well done you!
Victoria Underground Station? I can think of better places, but I bet it holds a special place in your heart...

But I'm curious, why did your local DJ phone you on your wedding day?

I'm nodding off over the laptop - I have worked hard today! But I can't go to bed yet, my pheasant's not quite ready. It's smelling divine though. Amazing what a bit of onion, celery, juniper berries and red wine and stuff can do.

They had an item called wedding of the day back then, and my DH wrote in as a surprise for me. Yep it was definately a surprise especially as he pretended to be from the car hire company and said that they only had a pink mini for me to get to the church. I was quite excited as I like pink minis, I was quite put out when I found out it wasn't true..lol. But the limo was just as nice :D

Piggers - well done on beating XH and as for not being able to have any money for the house or children, I really hope he has a shock coming to him. There is a calculator somewhere where you go on input the details and work out what he should be paying ;)

I used the one on the CSA website and it said he SHOULD be giving me £430 a month.. but I am happy so long as he pays the bank loan of £280
DD2 is shredding polystyrene all over sitting room floor. Joy.

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Na Jinks, he isnt doin it to get a reaction. Since the court date he's not allowed any contact with me. We dont speak, text or call. He is doing it because he is incapable of looking after children. He doesnt have a clue about children or how to look after them properly. He needs to go on some sort of parenting course thing.
The only rise he will get out of me is the phone call i shall be making to my solicitors first thing monday morning.
Its really frustrating me because i am getting it from all sides. He is pushing for contact over christmas, and thinks he should be allowed to have them overnight either xmas eve(over my deadbody) or xmas night...not happening. I originally offered boxing day from 10-6 but since he has been having the kids for four hours instead of 2, the state they have been coming home in is attrocious and i've been re thinking the whole situation. I dont want them going for the whole day and them coming back and spoiling the rest of the holidays. The past few visits they've come back sick from junk, crawling with headlice (which ive managed to aviod all school term!) jaimee was covered head to toe with flea bites! Lewis's asthma has been terrible as when they visit his mothers there are about 8 adults chain smoking in a tiny living room......I've said boxing day is being brought down to 10-3(still too much but i cant do much about it) He wants christmas eve, which he isnt getting for three simple reasons
1.We have plans for that day
2. The kids would come back sick and hyper, and wont sleep which will spoil christmas day
3. I don't trust him to bring them home. plain and simple. He would see it as an excuse to keep the kids becuase i wouldnt be able to do anything about it till the monday.
Right, its off my chest now. Still dont feel any better! LOL
MEN!

I would refuse to let them go!! If he can't feed them properly then they don't go.. or they would go between 10-1 or 1-4 so they could have a meal before they when and one when they get back.

you could always 'suggest' he attends a parening course as you have justified concerns re the childrens health when they are with him etc.

Every time mine behaves like a !!!!!! I am knocking off a day he has them over christmas.. it started off pretty much 50-50 on days off school.. it is looking more like 25-75 to me at the moment!

Zoe (((hugs))) and you are NOT being petty
- you might be able to 'get' the system changed over the smoking issue tbh - if you don't smoke at home and no-one else does then how can it be acceptable for other adults to smoke in front of the kids, especially with asthma. Also record the infestations...
My two were obssessive about being smoked in front of because they were asthmatic when younger and they knew they shouldn't breathe it in but I had to ask their dad not to allow people to smoke in front of them as they didn't like it
Mind you I also had to ask him not to diss me in front of the kids as they were finding THAT upsetting....
I never dissed him in front of them.
(doesn't stop me though;))

the childrens dad slags me and OH off something chronic to them.. then they come home and ignore me and go straight to OH for a hug... typical eh?

They have been better since I said OH doesn't want to be their dad, just their friend and we all need friends.. :D

I don't, or I usually succeed in not dissing him to the children.. they love us both regardless of our feelings towards one another.. I just wish he was a human being!

rosepink - run out of loo roll? A concept I find very difficult. I have palpatations if we get down to 8 rolls. Current stock is erm, 51 rolls. They were on offer :p
Don't worry - by Wednesday evening we had 49 loo rolls! I got four in the morning as I couldn't cope not having any at home, and then we went shopping in the evening and they were on offer, plus we had to spend £50 to get £7 off, so we got 5 packets of 9. It's such a relief knowing we have all that loo roll, I hate running low on it! We have to keep it in the car tho cos we got nowhere indoors to put it!
Rose You have been very quiet....are you ok? xx
Not really, been very tired and struggling all week to get anything done. Plus have been spending all available time trying to promote my flower brooch online shop, and I've not flown so thought I shouldn't really post. Just so tired and have brain fog and can't cope with anything. Sorry to moan, I know everyone has bigger things to cope with, things are just getting on top of me a bit. Plus DH has been feeeling poorly all week so 've been looking after him.

Sorry if this is out of date, I was reading around p.38 ish

Poohbear the collie dog sounds nice!

Boddy hugs, how awful about your mum’s things going missing, and I hope your DDs better now

Hugs Ishtar, I hope you are feeling less overwhelmed now

Pigpen that sounds really stressful about the children, the school should never have let them leave together!

FFP I hope you are feeling better soon

Love and hugs to all, hope you are all well xx

Had the sewing machine out so not only is my ironing basket empty but my mending one too.

DS3 has decided the tree looks scarey - it is huge and a bit menacing without any decs or lights so I'll get cracking on that tomorrow. My list is nearly complete so very pleased with myself. Must get some cards written tomorrow too!

I am pooped. Pheasant was delicious - had been hung just enough but not too much IYSWIM.

I am going to be a really sad person and go to bed at just after 10pm on a Saturday night. My bedroom is sparkling, the sheets are newly clean and it seems my idea of heaven right now just to curl up in them and sleep!

Night night all xx

It's so quiet here I'm expecting to see the tumbleweed passing through at any moment...

... food eaten, paper read, fire watched, wine drunk ... suppose I should follow soappie's example and head of to bed... maybe the flying will get done tomorrow :p
