    evening all

I've had a lovely day. Got up late (10am, record for me lately!) and then wrapped some prezzies, then lunch out and nipped to the library and a couple of shops. I then went up to london for tea and cake with a friend who i used to work with, she has moved near froddy and I miss having her around, so it was lovely. I also managed to get tins for some hm prezzies and some bits for DH's stocking whilst I was there.

Have been home since 6ish, done dinner, DH is washing up now. Film for us tonight I think.

Also, DH has done loads of cleaning today so kitchen star for me please toots.

Hallway also done so we should be on course for a couple more stars tomorrow :D

greenbee & froddy - glad you had a good time and a good gossip! and thanks to greenbee for the lovely card.

Unfortunately you have to accept it, he's their parent too and can give them what he feels he wants to, you wouldnt want him telling you what you can or cant feed them.

I accepted it a long time ago lol. I never complained to him, nor did i tell him he couldnt do it because like you said, at the end of the day he is going to do it whatever and there is nothing i can do to stop it. He sees them once a fortnight, and no ordenarily it would harm them, well it wont do any harm to jaimee however lewis has a problem with his pancreas and struggles to digest sugars. It makes him really sick for days if he has to much, and bless jaimee she trys to look out for him but when a three year old is plowed with chocolate which he doesnt normally get...! Thankfully the doctors and health visitor have written letters to the caffcass officer and social services so hopefully something will be done!

    - you might be able to 'get' the system changed over the smoking issue tbh - if you don't smoke at home and no-one else does then how can it be acceptable for other adults to smoke in front of the kids, especially with asthma. Also record the infestations...
Mind you I also had to ask him not to diss me in front of the kids as they were finding THAT upsetting....
I never dissed him in front of them.
    (doesn't stop me though;))

I am working on it! I wish i could get something done honestly, i detest smoking around children. Jase and i both smoke, but never in the house and never around the children. Obviously this was acentuated even more so when lewis was diagnosed with asthma. I've been keeping note of every little thing, because it all works in or case when we go for the final hearing. I dont care how insignificant they think these thing are, or if they think i am being petty. These are my children and they deserve the best upbringing i can give them and i will not have some violent sperm doner ruining their lives. Jaimee is constantly telling him off for laying into me, she hates it. And like you i would never dis him in front od them....i'll do it on here instead!
A way to deal with the contact over the holiday period, ignoring all the other irritations (and junk food is the usual one that blokes do is to be most generous through the solicitors and offer contact regularly over the second half of the holiday period. That way, you get the run up (nativity plays and the like), the day itself and then he has the opportunity to see them for the New Year (which incidentally, probably mucks up some of his New Year Party plans).
    .
The problem with the holidays jo is that because of the abuse he only see's them once a fortnight for four hours. Those four hours fall on boxing day. He is hissy fitting because he wants more time. How he thinks he deserves to demand this after no contact for 9months is beyond me. I am trying to get away with as little as possible, so offering him an extra hour on boxing day and two hours on the 22nd so he can take them for a meal is all he is getting. I've resigned myself to them coming home feeling a bit sicky but its christmas! What i dont want is lewis's asthma playing up, his sugar levels all over the place.

Right i shall stop harking on...whos watching the xfactor?!!! wasnt stacy just fab!

If you come up to Norfolk, have a look at Bradfields hardware store in Heacham. I got a brilliant companion set and coal scuttle from there and they have loads of other lovely stuff as well. Got to support the independants as well. ETA - fireguards came from there too.
I love bradfields :D I could (and have done) spend hours in there :o I know my dad uses them regularly (although he preferred it before they had the pretty stuff in there too!)
greenbee - you're not supposed to tell them we gossip!!! Thanks for a lovely lunch and natter - and thanks for saying I look well :D
well you do... apart from the grin, you're practically glowing, so you've obviously done the right thing!

Presents done - just need to decide what to do for my cousins' partners. Girls are easy... candles and that kind of thing. Not so easy with boys... and I've only met him a couple of times although he's been around for years.

Anyway, all the wrapping stuff is temporarily packed away, so I'm going to find some food and read the paper (which obviously I now HAVE to buy to light the stove with :D)

Just a quick popping in before I settle down to read the thread and pop my replies etc through..

I just have to tell you all - I had my email read out on the Alan Carr radio show about half an hour ago. He wanted to know about proposals so I emailed and told him about when Dave proposed to me. I didn't for one minute think it would get read out but it did :D You can hear it on the play again in about an hour or so - it's about 1hr and 25 mins in or therabouts, no longer than 1hr 40mins.

We were eating our dinner at the time and we both went very red, you could have warmed your hands on either of our faces..:rotfl:

Off to read the post from ages ago this week :D

    Ok if you insist..lol.

Alan Carr wanted to know how your other half proposed so I popped mine through as a joke. Dave proposed on Victoria underground station, in our lunch break, on the way back to Sloane Square. He's still as romantic....NOT!!! We have been together 22 years and I love him dearly :)

It was actually a spur of the moment thing sending it in as I really didn't think it would be read out.

Dave said that's the third time I have had something read out on the radio - I was rung up on my wedding day by our local DJ and ended up speaking live on radio before my wedding, eeeps!! I sent a postcard from our honeymoon into the DJ, as requested, and this was read out on the radio when we got back home.. And now this :D
