His sister is already planning where her stuff is going in his bedroom.

My brother did the same when my sister & I moved to uni. (well, she moved just down the road)

My sister comes home sometimes and gets mum to cook her dinner. I'm a little too far away (200 miles) to ask my mum to do that.

He'll be back before you know it!!:rotfl:Mine was , twice but I think this time its for good:T:D

Clapping hard there are you? :rotfl:

I wouldn't mind if he did, but he knows his room is going to his sis...she's in a tiny one just now so it's not fair to have a big one left empty. He'll always have a bed here if he needs it....just not in the big room anymore. :rotfl:

Haven't you just found a place to re-home your spare cutlery set and dinner service and do you think that stag's head will look nice in their hallway.;):D

Lol...I tried to rehome a brand new Xmas tree there but the g/f got one from her sister. If I can't get rid of the tree...the rest of the stuff's got no chance. :D

You will get used to it and you should congratulate yourself that you have done a great job of bringing him up so a woman other than his mum is willing to have him LOL.
    I keep hoping ... :rotfl:

Well, I'm in a similar state, DS1 came home from Uni in the summer but is moving out between Christmas and New Year. His flatmate-to-be has been sharing with a sibling who is moving out, and I think DS1 is seen as 'the one most likely to pay the rent', even though he's not got a job (he's doing some freelance stuff for a friend).

I'm gonna miss him, back to just having DS3 at home in term time. I don't think he'll be home often, but I know he will come when required. And I know he needs to.

What made me laugh was when I told one of my siblings he was moving out, they said "And have you stopped talking to him yet?" Which is pretty much what my mum did to me, all those years ago. I think she's either forgotten, or she still thinks she was justified for some reason, and I'm not going to explore which it is with her.

Lo SS...nowt like family eh? Some things are better left alone and not given air time.

(Of course if it was me.....I'd have to pick at it and get to the bottom of why...but then sometimes I am my own worst enemy :rotfl:)

    lol

My sister and I have ended up with some of my parents cutlery and pots and pans. Does mean there's now some space in the loft and cutlery draw.

Just before we left they were working out how much cheaper it would be without us - charming!

  • We moved out of our family homes and in with eachother back in marchish time.
He still rings his mummy everyday.
We see them around once a month (they are around 3 and a half hour drive away)

Tell me, did I go wrong somewhere? Only time mine ring or text me is if they need something ... :rotfl:

MIL rings DH (or me, we both speak to her, which is more than his MIL!) every Sunday evening. Took me a while to work out what she was doing, but I've got the hang of it now.
