My last of 6 is just about to move in with his girl friend too after months of staying over there because he fell asleep watching tele and woke up too late to come home as he didnt want to disturb us apparently.

I felt sad at first at the thought of the empty nest and then hubby reminded me that when the others moved out we saw much more of them than we had before, and funily enough always at tea time!!!!

dare I say it, no sooner do you get used to the empty nest, there will be grandchildren to fill the gap some point in the future.
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

Well, technically he's an adult but he's still my kid.

Remember my testosterone fuelled 15 year old? Well he's now my 'about to leave home' 20 year old.

He's going to be moving in with his girlfriend after Xmas/New Year. I feel a bit weird tbh. I know it's time for him to go....he's been practically living there for ages anyway and I've enjoyed not having to wait to hear his key in the door before I can relax enough to go to sleep....but now it's turning all official and serious....I feel a bit sick. I'm going to miss him.

I'll give him 3 months of paying bills and playing happy families and he'll be back.;)

Nah....would you believe he's actually still been paying me dig money faithfully every week even although he's not been staying here since August apart from the odd night. If he's happy to do that to help me out, whilst staying at g/f's flat and paying for shopping there and buying stuff etc, a few bills aren't going to phase him. :D He's a good lad. (Now ;))

He'll get it back via his inheritance when I pop my clogs. :rotfl:
