my eldest 2 moved into a house together. When they left we said "ofcourse you can come back whenever you feel like it" I think I was really upset and cried for about a week and then I started to see that yes!! I could afford to go away on holiday/buy a white sofa/stay out late. Then they both came back and I cried for a week...LBM-2003ish

I'm never having kids again....my next life will full of goldfish or hamsters or something.
This is horrible. I'm sat here crying my face off because we've just taken down his old chests of drawers and wall unit things that he kept all his junk in and OH is off to the dump with them. He was only a wee boy when we got them. I feel like I'm getting rid of one of my kids.
I know everyone will feel the same at this sort of situation but it's worse for me 'cos I'm just pathetic. *nods for emphasis* Out of my 3...he was my pal (apart from during the time I lovingly refer to as the 'swine years') and everything is changing now. I don't 'do' change......I'm the type of person who ALWAYS orders a korma. I hate change, it makes me feel unsettled....I like boring stability....I'm ranting now.....
Sorry for bumping, just needed to get that off my chest again......OH only has sympathy up to a point. By the time I get to the second box of tissues, he's usually had enough.

I lost DD and DS1 within a couple of weeks of each other this May/June - DD and our now-son-in-law bought their own home and DS1 took a job in London. Bereft doesn't even begin to describe how I felt
. DS2 (15) didn't particularly like all the sudden parental attention either;).
DH and I were already halfway through the fostering approval system anyway, but we completed a few weeks back and now the house is busy with youngsters again. Everyone thinks we're being all "nice" and "worthy" but really we needed a few more mouths to feed the piles of food I continued to make! One of these days I'll be ready for a bit of peace and tranquility, but not just yet

Our DD left home twice and came back twice after running up bills she couldn't pay so daddy had to step in and pay them for her! She's married now but DS is 23 and still with us. I just know I'll cry for ever when he moves out. I don't care if it's how things are meant to be, little boys need their mummy, no matter how old they are.0

Hi,
I've every sympathy..my two boys joined the Army at the same time, but I have my cats lol.. You'll NEVER lose your baby-he'll always need his mum, whether it's for a good ol' roast dinner, or to get the grass stains off his shirt-but least you're needed, AND the first woman he thinks of when he needs someone :-)Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

aliasojo, I'm not sure I can let mine go. He was really sweet to me in the early hours yesterday, I was trying to get a photo into an online crystal order and the heads just kept getting cut off and I do words not pictures so I had NO idea what to do.
He was a bit grumpy to begin with (as he always is when I'm wimping out of a technical problem) but he realised I was fragile and did his very best. It wasn't good enough but he acknowledged that and we agreed I'd have to find another site. When I was ready for bed I said "Sorry" to him (for dragging him away from what he was doing and being fragile) he said "I don't mind." And then he let me hug him.
I really am very fragile. Pass the virtual box of tissues my way when you're done. And I'm sharing that cwtch from pavlovs_dog too.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
