Prices already back to just 10% under peak..... So anyone buying on a tracker has pretty much broken even versus the national average rent at a 5% plus yield.
That post serves to illustrate what a pr!ck you are.0 -
what a nice and intelligent individual you are. was there any need for that?
hopefully someone will report this kind of post.
It was nasty remark but running to teacher is a tad unnecessary.

i'm not going to report him but i'm sure some one else will but you're right maybe it is unnecessary.
his comments just show his lack of intelligence and probably his impotence when attempting to discuss something that doesn't suit his viewpoint.0 -

Me neither. I've started enjoying this kind of reaction, precisely because it identifies those who make it, and those who thank them for it, as being the type who are unable to debate and defend their position.his comments just show his lack of intelligence and probably his impotence when attempting to discuss something that doesn't suit his viewpoint.
Absolutely correct.
In the last few days, we've had some great threads, with a lot of reasoned debate, facts, sourced evidence, research of supporting positions , etc....
Some of our more aggressive house price critics have been conspicuously absent from those debates, or dissapeared from them rather quickly after being shown up for what they, or their positions, are. Shallow and vacuous.
Guess the old hpc catchphrases don't really stand up under the pressure of a rigorous examination...“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

DH also didn't like Balthazar. We have a short lit of three first names for our imaginary son. My parents feel our shortlist is probably why I can't produce: My ovries being too wise to so lumber a child to such nomenclature.
Beware!
My son's name was decided over a drink whith my OH when we'd only been together a week. It was a family name, of a great grandfather of mine, from whom we'd recently found and translated some very moving letters from the trenches in WW1. I felt very close to and fond of him, and liked the idea.
Fast forward a decade, and we'd had 2 daughters with quite 'ordinary' names. Then we had a son. My OH would not countenance any other name than the one we'd first picked. A decade on, I wasn't sure if it was fair to give a boy such an unusual name. But my OH was adamant. So that's what my son's called.

As far as I can see, reading the thoughts of the most prolific posters on here, there is no chance I will ever get a house. I can't afford one now, and they are just going to keep going up and up faster than my wages. Therefore I never will be able to buy one.
I wonder if they will still keep going up even if no one can afford one?[/QUOTE]
That won't happen. It's not logical. One reason prices are rising are BTL'ers coming in and snapping up reasonably priced property. Iv'e had mine on the market, family home good area etc and am getting viewings from folk who'se money is just sat in the bank.
MY preference to sell to a young family or ftb'ers but these family homes ( which are in such demand in the SE) are being outstripped by those with funds available.
But I havn't sold yet, so hey ho????0 -
HAMISH_MCTAVISH I've been observing your debate online and I like it and agree with you on most, very valid, points you've raised, very interesting!0
