Hiya Flutterby! Glad you enjoyed your hectic day off - lovely to spend time doing what you want to do (apart from going to the recycling centre and Mr T's :D). have you got an MP3 player? If so, you could borrow audiobooks from the library and load them onto it. My DH is doing that for us, so we'll have far more books available than if we'd taken paper ones (though we will take some of those as well.)

Thanks for that idea Ivyleaf. I do have an Ipod and I was going to spend next weekedn sorting out tracks for it so I'll see what space I have left for audiobooks. I much prefer actual books though. It's only for the plane out as my friend who I'm staying with is having my books and I'm stealing some of hers to read on way back!

    Evening everyone.

boy I am bushed. Not stopped all afternoon except for a quick coffee and I am cream crackered. H working late so won't be home until at least 7pm.

If any of you want to have a nose the article that my H posed for a few months back is now out. He's on page 50 of Men's Health so feel free to have a gander at my lovely H. He think's he looks a poser, not seen the actual final photo but the ones I saw them take he looks nothing like a poser

flutterby - wow you are brave going to the Bullring in December! It's heaving at the best of times but I bet it's jam packed tomorrow. Have a good time at the NEC too.

ivyleaf - yes my advent calendar is wooden. Purchased from Costco about 4 years ago for £20 - a real bargain and something I intend to keep down the years to pass on to the kids if they'll have it :o I will take a pic and post it on here when I get a mo.

Bargainbird - Congrats to Spike and his new tooty pegs :T and well done on the climbing - my DD can now climb onto the dining room chairs and then to the dining table

nmlc - well done with your weightloss. Any tips you care to pass on :D

I think I might treat myself to a beer! Not had one all week and as it's Friday I can hear it calling from the fridge :rotfl:

OK here is my advent calendar. Please ignore the rather unsightly trunking on the wall next to it :o

If you look really closely you can see the Santa and elves and tree, window and 3 candles on the left hand side are the back ground and I hung all the little ornaments on so you could see them. Picture isn't very good, I struggled to get it all in the frame.
Anyway pic doesn't do it justice but I love it :D

My children both have the Jo Verso embroidered ones with little matchboxes for the presents. Mum used to find all sorts for them, but these days I stick to sweets. Kids now 16 and 19. DS still got excited when I got it out! dd away at Uni, so sent a little parcel with some chocolate.

We may have some good news, hubby has a new job, starting on Monday, the downside is almost 2 hours traveling time each way, stiil he want's to work & I'm not stopping him.
I'm not getting too excited as it's all a bit strange. He applied for the job 2 weeks ago via an agency, the person he spoke to refused to put him forward for the job, saying she didn't think he was suitable. The job went to someone else who lasted 1 day. Today he was phoned by someone else in the agency who chatted to him on the phone & has arranged for him to start on Monday. My worry is that the 1st person at the agency is back off her holiday on Monday, so he may just get a call telling him not to bother going in after all. Oh well we'll wait & see.
    Have a good evening.
    Hugs Hester
