Morning everyone.
Just quickly popping on whilst the kids are happy playing! Early start as DS wet the bed at 4am and didn't go back off to sleep until 5.30 booooooooooo
Very cold but nice and sunny so the school run was quite pleasant
Not a lot going on here today apart from kids going to decorate a wooden decoration purchased from Hobbycraft. I can see me ending up covered in glitter but it's all good fun LOL!
Despite being a bit tired I am feeling quite chipper, I might put on some Xmas music in a bit and get the kids dancing!
Not sure what to do for tea, have some roast chicken for kids for lunch and might save the rest for our tea.
Tru - The First Noel is my all time fave carol
Diva - glad to hear Tris is getting some sleep.
Molly - Hugs for you xxxx
OK better dash and earn my pennies with the kids.
Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.
PS. Advent calendar today had a rocking horse to hang on the tree.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning All. I'm not a usual poster but am an avid daily reader and have been much inspired by you all for the last three or so years. I didn't know where else to put this thank you so I've listed it here - hope thats OK. By way of explanation, three years ago my husband was made redundant from his City job. It was something of a shock to the system but made us sit and evaluate our lives. We decided he would look for a job closer to home and cut out the daily commute so he could see the children who were then only 1 and 3. Of course, the local jobs didn't pay anywhere near as much as a City job but we felt that it was worth it in the long run. At this point, I found you guys and have embraced the OS way of life ever since. We were lucky in that we didn't have debt. But, we also had no savings and a HUGE mortgage. He found a job paying just over half of what he used to earn and we've 'cut our cloth' accordingly. The one big shocker was the earnings to mortgage ratio but we've worked on that very hard and have managed to get it down a bit. Still quite a long way to go though.
The reason I'm writing to thank you all now is that earlier this week, Husbands work re-structured and on Tuesday we weren't sure if he would have a job or not. Without you all, we would have been desparately worried. Because of this site we had savings to cope with a rainy day, reduced household expenditure that can be maintained by my little part time jobs (just) and enough money saving tips to last us a lifetime. Thankfully, he didn't lose his job. He's got a new boss and it will take time to settle down but we weren't as worried as were last time round.
And its all thanks to you. Ooooh. I feel all emotional reading this.
Right. Of to make muffins and soup for lunch (how OS am I???!!!!)

Good Morning Chums,
not long back from the school run and its blooming freezing.Youngest DGS (aged 5) wanted to know why he couldn't wear his pyjamas to school as they were warmer than his school uniform. His distracted Dad said 'No way Mikey', I know how he felt though as he's got some lovely fleecy warm PJs and they did seem warmer than what he had to wear to school. We had to wait in the playground for 15 minutes before the children were let in and by that time I was frozen solid and even Mikey was looking a bit blue bless him.The wind is a strong northerly which I think has arrived from Moscow.
Well I have a short break until 12.00 then I have to pick up DGD from her college placement as she has forgotten something vital to take with her tonight as she is going to her friends for a sleep-over(frantic phone call from her just as I was going out the door at 8.20 this morning). Then this afternoon I am going to my history class so at least I will get some peace there.
Tonight I have to do my run to Gravesend and back with DD so she can go to her firms Christmas meal. Then another trip at 11.00 to pick her up. Its all go being a handy Granny and Mum this time of the year.
DGS Danny was called yesterday by the company (Endermol) he is going to work for in the New Year to ask if he could do some extra days before Christmas and he said 'Yes no probs', so he has gone off to west London this morning so I expect he will pop his head around the door on his way home tonight.I'd better make sure there is some cake for him to have a chunk of, as he has hollow legs and is always hungry. At some point I am hoping to get my Christmas cards written ,at least the overseas one as they have to be in the post today I think
Right time to get a wriggle on.Just not enough hours in the day at the moment I have to get my essay on Peterloo tidied up for Monday night as it has to go off to Canterbury for marking.
Hope everyone has a good day

Afternoon all, missed the morning again. I have to leave for work at 9 and really struggling to get my pretty little (!!???) @r$£ out of bed at the moment, in spite of having had a lot of hours sleep.
Got the paying sewing done yesterday and been and posted it on the way home from work. Post Office wasn't too bad thank goodness. Another lot of sewing arrived yesterday, but a small batch that someone else had tackled and not coped with the job, so setting that to rights today. More ££ so :T.
Went to charity shops as I was parked right outside. Got a lovely pale pink scarf/pashmina and a couple of books, one is all Brownie recipes:j and the other is called Christmas: A Cook's Tour.
DH will be back from working away today, should get here mid afternoon.
Breakfast I only had time for fruit. Lunch I had a very small amount of ratatouille with a disc of goat's cheese, then some bread and marmalade. Still hungry! Dinner is going to be stir fry veg, noodles and liver.
Feel like a sleep, but don't know if that'll happen.
Hope you all have productive days...I need to, the place looks like it's been done over, this always happens when I start sewing, I don't do anything else!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
