I love going into those two shops....I've had all sorts of bargains from the Help the Aged one!Have they put the little trees up over the shops in the village this year?

Afternoon all
I'm rather late posting but have been soo busy! Have done the weekly food shop. Have managed to keep on top of the housework, washing, drying and ironing - and now the washing machine appears to have died! How typical 2 weeks before Xmas! Have a hectic week this next week, dad goes into hospital for angio-gram on Tuesday and it's DS1's birthday on Wednesday - so just hoping everything goes ok with dad.
Have managed to stick with the diet, have lost another 2lb this week so total lost is now 2 stone 8lb and I've met the interim target I had set myself of 1 stone in the last 12 weeks leading upto Xmas - so I'm wandering around feeling very pleased with myself at the mo! I just want to get my weight off soo much, I don't want to be fat anymore. Hoping I may be able to loose a couple more pounds before Xmas - I still have a way to go and it's obviously going to get harder. We're off to friends for the weekend so will need to be careful as alcohol and food will feature no doubt!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

I didn't notice them. My MIL works as a volunteer at Help the Aged, she's nearly 80. My DS worked there for year as well. It's a shame, but every empty unit seems to be a food outlet these days and more coming."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Afternoon all.
We had a pretty good trip into Central MK yesterday; I deposited Mr LW at the Post Office to post a card to his cousin in Hungary, and wheeled myself over to the card shop; I was able to find a nice birthday card straight away, and the assistant was kind enough to hide it for me in the front pouch of my wheelchair "backpack" where I keep my spare cloth bags. Best of all, it was only £1.49.:T
It's the last time I'll be going into town this side of Xmas though, barring emergencies - the crowds were really too much for me. Trust me, it's no fun being in a crowd when you're at the approximate level of everyone else's groin.
Anyway, when we got home, I had to hide the card sharpish, so I put it in the saucepan drawer in the bottom of the cooker!:p
We also went and got a few bits at Morrisons, and they'd moved the veggie frozens. I had to ask an assistant, cos I just couldn't find them. I do wish shops wouldn't do that - I refer to it as playing Confuse-a-Consumer.
So, I'm afraid not much is getting done today; but I need to save my energy as we have a busy day tomorrow.:o
Oh, and Mr LW started making noises about putting up Yule decorations. I reminded him that they're stashed in the loft, and I can't get up there..... we'll see how long it takes him to get them down.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today; keep warm everyone. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Our son got the tree down a couple of weeks ago and is still trying to pluck up courage to brave the loft again, as the decorations are still up there.
nmlc - (not to mention taplady and others!) Well done on the weight loss! I'm really struggling atm, I seem to want to keep eating and can't seem to work out when I'm hungry and when I'm notI'm a bit stressed so perhaps that's why, or it may be something to do with hormones as at 56 I haven't had my menopause yet  but I must lose some weight before we go on holiday in Jan or I won't get into my summer trousers
Welcome MoneyMission, what a lovely post
Essex-girl Thanks for the heads-up about oversea posting dates! I have a card to send to America, so I'll post that tomorrow. I bought the stamp for it, then forgot all about it
Penny_Pincher - Huge ((((HUGS))) hon, what a shame you have to wait until Monday but some things can't be helped. Of course it's not because of anything you've done, though I think you know that really. Life is just very unfair sometimes x
Purple ivy - _pale_ I love cats, though we don't have one atm, but the thought of a customer ordering some sewing and finding cat's hair or worse on it _pale_
Penelope Penguin Enjoy your pork/bacon! Is it actually your own pig, as it were? The one you posted a photo of on here?
bargainbird - Hmm, Spike seems to be having a busy time :D
Haribo - Better luck with the chickens todayYou made me laugh out loud though!
tru - Nice to see you back with the carols! Btw I made some flapjacks the other day using Splenda instead of sugar (though of course I did have to put some golden syrup in.) They are rather crumbly and didn't rise much, but they don't half taste nice
Diva - Glad to hear Tris has been able to go home, much nicer for him.
Bitsy Beans - Your Advent calendar sounds really lovely. I didn't get around to buying one at all this year! Did you say yours is a wooden one?
Seem to have been a bit busy the last few days and not a lot of OS happening apart from dinners. Tonight we're having cottage pie, as we haven't had that for a while. Got some lamb chump ends tomorrow for a lovely casserole :j

Afternoon all
I had an unexpected day off today :j. I n work we were meant to have a a meeting for the morning and then go for lunch as a mini Xmas do. However my boss text me at half7 this morning to say that she was ill and cancelling the meeting and meal. As my young people had day off anyway there was no work for me to do!! So I took a day's leavewhich was lovely as I've not had a day off since Sept!
I had a jam-packed day though. I got up straight away otherwise I would have wasted the day in bed :rotfl:. I went to the tip to drop off the recycling, popped to Mr T to get some cat food, then went to my parents to pick up all my mail and the presents etc I'd ordered online (there was loads there!). It was nice to spend some time with my parents, not seen them much lately. I then headed into town, I took my mother in as she was meeting a friend for lunch. We wandered a few shops before she had to meet her friend. Then I met my friend who also had day off for spot of lunch. I bought some Xmas cards, got my holiday money for New Zealand :j and some books to read on the plane. The Works had 3 paperbacks for £5, one of the books I bought had 3 books in it, so effectively 5 for a fiver
Since I've been home I've sorted lots of stuff. I have all my presents ready to wrap for Xmas, and my list of people to write cards for. I may make a start on that tonight.
DW went on in early hours, and I'm having freezer meal for tea, probably fajitas as I have sour cream to use up in the fridge.
I am off to The Clothes Show in Birmingham tomorrowwith 2 friends. We are staying over in a Travellodge then going shopping the Bullring on Sunday, where I'm meeting up with a friend who I met at Camp America who lives in Brum!! Can't wait.
I won't be posting again on here til Sunday night or Monday so have a fab weekend all

Hiya Flutterby! Glad you enjoyed your hectic day off - lovely to spend time doing what you want to do (apart from going to the recycling centre and Mr T's
). have you got an MP3 player? If so, you could borrow audiobooks from the library and load them onto it. My DH is doing that for us, so we'll have far more books available than if we'd taken paper ones (though we will take some of those as well.)
