Well it doesn't sit there working it out one bid at a time- it knows what to put, as it is a highly advanced calculator. :rotfl:

The other week I was bidding on something that cost 50p. I accidently input £50 and tried to cancel this but because had passed the timeline you can do this before end of auction was ****ing myself in case I had to pay some stupid price.
I won the thing for 50p because no-one else bid on it. And even if they had, I might have ended up paying a fiver or something if I was the final bidder.

If someone had put a bid on, that was less than £50 - you would have won it at a final price of 'their max bid + one increment'.

An item is at 99p, i bid £2.50
10 secs before the end of the auction, someone bids £3,, they win for £2.55 or thereabouts, as ebay REALLY QUICKLY bids up and up and up till WHOEVER BID HIGHEST WON. They don't cancel my bid as the other person bid higher, or otherwise no one would pay any higher than the starting bid. Unless there were NO OTHER BIDDERS

It is like at a real aution, except whereas at an auction, THE BIDDER KNOWS THEIR MAXIMUM AND BIDS UP UNTIL THEY REACH THEIR MAXIMUM, on ebay THEY TELL EBAY THEIR MAXIMUM, SO EBAY BIDS UP TO THEIR MAXIMUM, FOR EVERY BIDDER.

I really don't know how to explain how bidding works, simply, but this thread is really annoying me!!! Can someone set up an auction, and tell someone else to bid etc etc, talk everyone right through it COS THIS IS ANNOYING ME!!
