We have just changed over, smooth as anything so far. Took maybe 5-6 weeks. Will have to see how it goes in the longer term.Joe

Some responses I had, Steve, to a similar question.
I did make the switch application last week. Before doing so I e-mailed them a question which was answered by return e-mail within 12 hours.
My application was acknowledged within 24 hours advising what would happen after the initial 7 day "cooling off" period. So far so good.0 -
Thanks for the info and link, it's put my mind at rest, think I'll go ahead.
Edit: Just gone ahead and applied. Interestingly when I requested info from energyhelpline.com they replied that as EBICo didn't have an agreement with them would I please try another provider; going from 24% saving with EBICo to 16% saving. Hmmm, you've got to laugh.Steve0 -
Yes, and because of the lack of agreement (financial inducement?) the £12.50 bonus from energyhelpline is not valid.
Their recommended other supplier indicated an 8% saving compared to 18% with Ebico!0 -
I'm an Ebico customer and it's worth noting that they use Scottish and Southern Energy to supply the power: your supply contract is in essence with S&SE. And I have had real problems with S&SE for the past 6 months since I switched to Ebico convincing them that they had the wrong meter listed for me. Sometimes meters do get mixed up and sometimes it can take a while to sort out, but I remain unimpressed that I have been threatened with two letters of disconnection for not paying a bill which doesn't relate to my meter, after I telephoned and was told not to and that my account was on hold and that a correct bill would be sent out. And I am still waiting for that correct bill. Whether S&SE are more incompetent than any other supplier I couldn't say
I imagine I only had such difficulties because of the mix up regarding my meter.

Maybe Ebico have changed this. I have been advised by them it will be either Southern Electric or SWALEC.0 -

Southern Electric is a trading name of the Scottish and Southern Energy Group of which SSE Energy Supply Limited is a member Registered Office: Westacott ...

I noticed SSE have pledged to hold prices for Energy supply until 2007. I wonder how that affects Ebico? Will they still raise in September? I assume they probably will.
I am with Equigas but was thinking of switching to Equipower as BG Click Energy is a joke. Just not sure I will be switching in time for a bumper price rise....

Yes BG is a joke, I don't know how they keep their customer base. It must just be full of customers who don't want to save money or have no idea of the competition. As for possible EBICo price rises; if they become uncompetitive you just move on.Steve0
