Not allowed photography at school play??

  • I wonder how those who are in favour of photographing children would feel if they saw their own childs face 'photoshopped' onto an indecent picture?

This sort of thing is actually far more common than the average person realises!

    Paprika is quite right!

  • Sorry I hit the thanks button by mistake.

I really wish people would not make posts with the air of authority that they know the law when they do not, you do not need express permission from a court.

Same as not all 'looked after' children are subject to court proceedings!

flippin36 my daughter wasnt included in the class school photo even though she was in school it is quite easy for a child to not be included and the photo still to take place with the permission of those parents that have given it!

Hardly the same thing, parents are invited in to attend the event, it has been acceptable for many years and now suddenly some small minded councillors who have no real grasp of the risk bring in rules banning taking photographs.

No, just the right to privacy, or don't you consider other peoples children as having that right. Maybe just grownups if you think it's hardly the same then.
  • Our school has suddenly announced that photos are now okay 'due to new legislation'!

lol. Remarkable how everyone is different!!!

Yet we are invited to purchase class photographs once a year.............

I understand about "looked after" children. But I was actually wondering about Paprikas claim that Pdophiles might be "window shopping" _pale_

If you are worried about a P a e d o p h i l e photoshopping your childs image on to an indecent one then you had better make sure your children cover up their faces when they are outside, ban all family and friends from taking pictures of your children which incidentally your child is statistically more likely to be abused by than a stranger, and of course what about all those CCTV cameras your childrens faces appear on, you will also need to hire a team of body guards to cordon off streets and search everyone on it to make sure bystanders are not in possesion of cameras, perhaps you should burn the family pics in case a thief steals them.

Do you lose sleep worrying that your child will be knocked down and killed or injured by a car?, do you campaign for a ban on cars?, despite the fact that your child is more likely to be knocked down by a car than have their picture photoshopped, you really need to get a perspective on this, you are bordering on paranoid.

If the parents of a child have concerns about their privacy then it isn't appropriate for them to be in a school play, you can't have it both ways.

And I wonder how many of those parents refuse to allow their child's picture to be taken at a party?

Or how many refuse to allow their child be in the class photograph?

Or keep them indoors at all times unless wearing a mask?

Paprika was right about !!!!!philes grooming and biding their time. She was also right about them being manipulative and working hard at gaining trust.

But she has not said how banning photos of school plays will protect these children, and she has exaggerated the scale of the problem rather a lot imo.

Let's keep this in perspective for goodness sake!

No as i have already pointed out there is ways around this which my DD's school have gone out of their way to accommodate why should a child miss out on doing something everybody else is doing

What you mean is the school is accomodating one child at the expense of every other child, hardly fair.
