Seems like an effective way of dealing with someone if you ask me - had an argument with a school caretaker? No problem, just accuse him of indecent assault and voila, his career's over.
When I worked at solicitors we had two interesting cases.
One was that of a school caretaker with learning difficulties, who was accused by a 13 year old schoolgirl of groping her. He lost his job and was prosecuted, only for the girl to then admit that she had made the whole thing up to justify to her parents going home very late from school one day.
The other was that of a father reported by two 16 year old girls who were babysitting his daughter, who said they had found blood in the baby's nappy. Two police cars arrived out of nowhere and took the father and child away, while the mother was left out of her mind. The girls were then found to be liars, and not for the first time. Even so, the family had to move out because the father was being subjected to a hate campaign by the neighbours, even AFTER he was cleared.
I daresay that even six year olds now know that accusing adults of fiddling them will ensure said adults to get into deep trouble. Which is a shame because when this sort of mud is thrown, it does stick.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
