Echo we aren't getting £5 we are getting £4 from the customer and Avon are charging us £3. So we only getting £1 normal comm not double!!!!!
Also I pay tax so I pay tax not on the £1 I actually made but on £5 they said I made!!!!
then we need to start complaining but who too exactly? it doesn't say on the leaflet that we're only getting £1-thanks for pointing that out0 -
Am no expert but seems to me that the commission figure calculated by Avon is always wrong anyway i.e. it should deduct our costs re. books, bags, samples etc. to give a true figure of actual earnings.
Can see why they don't though because quite often when I place an order the commission figure looks quite good but I always wonder where it's all gone when I do my banking after my deliveries!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

You really have a downer on her don't you!
If I deliver an order to someone, I leave the book with them, and a week later I collect the book back - most of my customers leave them on the doorstep, but some forget. So sometimes, I do end up disturbing them twice.
A lot of reps re-use the book - that is why they need it back (because they cost us money). The right change does make things easier, as we are not shops and if everyone pays with a £20 it causes us problems. She may only leave the book with you for two nights as she may need to pass the book on to someone else the next day. Most reps try to deliver as many orders on the same evening or whatever, as it is difficult (and expensive if you use a car) to keep going back. Also, many reps have kids and jobs to fit things around.
Personally, I think that you are being harsh on her - for most reps, Avon is just a way to earn a few extra pennies for treats for the kids or whatever - unless you have got a fantastic round, then you don't earn very much at all. The whole point of Avon is that it can fit around our lives - rather than our lives fitting around Avon. If you don't like the way she does things, speak to her - if she won't (or can't) change things to suit you, then use the website, or try to get another rep. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but all of us do the best we can for very little thanks and money. Whatever we do will not be right for somebody - but unless people tell us, we don't know and can't change things. A lot of my customers would think that I was a complete wierdo if I knocked on the door just to give them a book, they would be annoyed that I hadn't just pushed it through the door (and so would I to be honest!). Most of my customers would prefer a text message or a note rather than being disturbed on the phone or in person. So, in a lot of your preferences, you seem to be quite unusual - but your rep will not know this unless you tell her
I know what HM means. Any of my customers who order regularly over £30 and they can have a book all of their own on my round. They are the first I deliver to and I would not be bothered if they didnt have change as honestly, anyone delivering items without a bag full of change is just causing problems for themselves.
Texting and door knocking are personal preferences and as a Rep calling at someones house it is our job to find out what they are, not the customers who have to run around saying "Excuse me but please don't text me again."
It might only be pin money but it is still a job (you should be registered to pay tax) and if anyone is going to do a job, isn't it better to do it properly?0 -
I dont see her. She either writes on the form in the book or its her kids who come to the door.
You will always get customers who are rude however that doesnt mean that the Avon lady should not put in any effort for a regular customer.
If you have customers who order from you but not everytime, they might do if you gave them eye to eye contact when delivering a book.
I am not interested in her personal life. She has choosen to do a job which means she needs to come to my house. If she cant do that or cant be bothered, Im not sure why she would do it. Fair enough if I only ordered £1.50 every time, but I dont. Not once has she bothered to knock on my door and say "Hi, my name is Angela".
Yet she expects me to go out of my way to find change, be in on the day SHE wants me to be, not once but twice a campaign, to not be able to keep the book, to only have the book for 2 evenings......etc.
I dont think Sainsburys expect all that from me when I bother to go to their shop, so I really dont understand the selfish attitude.
Its things like that that does result in orders been canceled and customers been lost.
She hasnt turned up this week so I wont be ordering anymore.
Some Avon reps think they can just push books through doors, send kids to pick up books and drop of books, and generally put the least amount of money and work into it that they can.
I think I do it how you mean with my customers.
When the order arrives, I bag all the orders up and if I only have 25 of the new books then the first 25 biggest customers get their order delivered by me with the new book. (This never happens as I order more than 25 books)
The customer then gets their order. If they have the money, great. If not I tell them not to worry, they can pay when I pick the book up when it suits and drop their order back off.
That way I go to a house twice, the same as any other rep, but the customer has their order before being asked to order again which is awful.
Little bits and pieces are done in between.
I also would not dream of texting a customer unless I had found out first what was their preferred method of comms.
As for Avon Reps using a car, not sure about that as I thought the idea was to have a local territory. Fair enough if it isn't local.
Find another rep hun, she sounds like she just wants the money.0 -
I agree with you.

I agree with all of your comments - but, I have a local round, I could walk to deliver brochures & my delivery letters, and do when the weather is nice.
However, there is no way I could walk and deliver all of my orders within a reasonable time frame. I usually have £400 of goods to deliver each time, which could be on average about 35 orders - theres no way I could walk and deliver them all within a couple of hours. Using my car I can get it done - my customers are happy as they get their orders when they say I'll be delivering (and a different time/date if they request) and be safe, as I wouldn't want to carry much money around on me in the areas I deliver to lol!
If I need to contact a customer about their order - if they have provided a mobile number, then yes I'll text them, as I take it to mean that they would prefer a text if they have only provided a mobile number - if they give a home number then I'll try that first. You'll never be able to get it right for every customer, heaven knows even though I go out of my way to be accomadating sometimes for my customers, I still have some miserable, awkward customers that I hate delivering to. It sounds bad, but its true - but, I still give them the service that I do every other customer, as that is our jobs afterall.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Just checked the "bye buys" list on the website, and it isn't mentioned as discontinued, so might be coming back in a couple of books down the line. Just looked in a C4 book though and can't seem to find it there.....maybe someone else can be more help lol!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
