Avon Hints and Tips (Part 3)

If a rep doesn't order any brochures (if they place an order - even if its just for order forms to keep their account active), then you will sent one brochure at a cost of 55p - but you can return it (using the code for delivered & charged, but not ordered).
But - the rep in question would probably be best ordering brochures for a campaign further ahead (so instead of ordering the brochures that are red, order the next ones down) - that way they have got the books ready for when they carry on - and there will be no problem with their account as there has been an order.
Thanks, lozza, early days yet but just trying to plan ahead. Remember being charged 55p for a book (and sent 20 free) when I didn't order any books in one of my early campaigns but thought that was just for newbies - yes/no?
Is it important to order something every campaign or can you miss one/some? (Wondering whether we need to order via each other's accounts or whether just to cover via our own.)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Yeah that was just for newbies, though its been stopped now anyway.
You can miss a campaign - but best to let your sl/asm know as we like to know - as otherwise we'll wonder if someones giving up! If you miss 3 campaigns then your account will be inactive - best to order at least every other campaign. But you can just submit an order for order forms so that you are up to date with the latest HT, and with being able to send the single brochure back it wouldn't cost anything.
If you and the other reps are all within the same team (ie all signed under the same SL / asm ), then I'd let them know your plan when they're back, as they'll be pleased that the territory will be being covered and that you've had the sense to organise this!
If you are within different areas though (which you could be, even if you are under the same SL) , I'd keep it quiet, as especially if an asm finds out they can get funny - as essentially orders that are from their area will be helping a different asms sales.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

There are Avon reps in abundance in my area so lots of competition. A few of us are thinking of covering for each other to make sure our customers are looked after whilst we go on holiday/in hospital, etc., etc. Exact details are yet to be figured out (sure there may be more queries later) but first off:
If I were to cover another reps area on her behalf it would obviously be easier for me just to order the extra books needed on my account. Would there be any downside to the 'absent rep' for not actually ordering books for an odd campaign?
Sorry if that's a stupid question but our Sales Leaders are quite a way away and seems easier just to organise it between ourselves.
Any pros/cons/tips?
The only downside would be that the rep going away would have to pay 55p which is what avon charge if a rep does not order any books.
I think this is a great idea.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

If a rep doesn't submit any order, then they wouldn't be charged. If they submit an order, but don't order any brochures, then yes they'll be sent a single brochure at a charge of 55p - but this can be returned as they didn't actually order it.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Thanks, I did not know this. I thought you could not return brochures at any time.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

Hi F1re_cr4cker
email Avon through the website and explain the customer wants to try another shade, they can order it for you. It will show on your records as reason code 29 and it may look a bit strange the way they do it, but you will get your replacement.0 -

Thanks again, lozza. We're in the same area (same ASM) but different SLs. A couple of us are aiming for PC so we're keen to keep our own sales in our own accounts - can't see the point in paying over the odds for the books though so will be combining orders for those (should save a 'few bob' even with the 1 x 55p charge - and even better if we can send that back too!)
Will obviously take a bit of organising but sure it'll be worth it if we can pull it off. (Customer loyalty take a lot of acquiring so it's definitely worth trying to hang on to it.)
Are we the first or does anyone else do this? Makes sense to me.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

This is the only case where you can return brochures - as you didn't order it, so avon lets you return it. Any brochures that you actually order though, they can't be returned for credit.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Sounds good - I'd let all your SL know what you're planning then with being under the same asm, as there will be no problem with sales going to wrong area so to speak.
When we went on holiday last year, we asked our MIL to cover for us - as our delivery came while we were away and didn't want to miss a campaign, especially with it being in October as potential Christmas sales. She did a good job (we did let her have the earnings from it) - and enjoyed herself so much she decided to become a rep herself lol. I always tell my reps that if they are going to be away when a delivery is due - is there someone you trust to deliver it for you, if you give them the earnings or at least split it with them, then you don't risk loosing any customers which is best in the long run.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
