Aureol I really feel for you. I just wish you lived close by and we could meet. My postcode is wf3 and I have a feeling you are very far away. I have no real advise regarding your financial problems. Have you checked all your insurance covers and gas & electric to make sure your not paying more than you have to? I know it seems like a big task but once your little boy has a nap get on money supermarket or similar. Sell, sell, sell anything you no longer need, use, clothes/toys son has outgrown.
Surestart centres can also help with what benefits you are entitled to and can arrange a job centre meeting.
Try contacting health visitor for info on local groups, my area has loads of groups for the under 5s most are free. You don't need to attend every week and I have made lots of friends & good friends through baby groups. Some groups are a bit harder than others especially if your new to them but the majority are great as everyone has been the newbie at some point. Don't worry about meeting mums on mumsnet, I bet there are plenty of mums with similar aged children that are returning to work soon.
Hth wish I could help more.20/01/10 Began as an Avon Representative. C4 - £156.16 :j C5 - £219.75:T0 -
You are all so wonderful on this forum
I am selling all my son's old clothes, I haven't bought anything new since last summer, and am desperately trying to sell 2 jackets I have which I no longer need.
I am listing things everywhere, lol, ebay, netmums, priceminster, etc. Tried facebook and got the post on ebay and preloved. One friend said she was interested but didn't have the money although I was offering at a bargain price DS' old clothes.
My stalker customer gave my DS a toy car which we do not have room for so am trying to sell that too! My friend gave DS loads of toys, so I sold his old ones.
The CAB just couldn't help me. I am in one of those awful situations...lol.. might have to tell DH to leave me...lol.
I will try for more playgroups and stuff for DS, but it needs to be really cheap or easy for me to get to, ie no bus as all his CB has already gone on nappies, wipes, formula, etc.
I am trying everything, do surveys until I am sick of them for the vouchers, so can buy food or nappies, etc. I do competitions, so I can sell the prizes, so am still waiting for some recent wins to sell. Problem is everyone is in the situation and doing the same thing.
Thank you all for your support, it means so much to me.
Unfortunately Sunny I am in the not so sunny south.0 -

I need some motivation, feel so tired but I prepped the last lot of books and my order goes in Friday. Collected books yesterday and had no orders, this is what I expected cos I already have orders in from usual few but still disappointed. Have just made Hov so I don't feel too disheartened. I know it will only take me about 10mins and 4 of the houses are new territory so maybe exactly what they need LOL and dd could do with a bit of fresh air.20/01/10 Began as an Avon Representative. Really sorry, aureol, can't offer much advice other than have you posted up in the Benefits section on here? Hopefully someone might come up with something to help you i.e. crisis loan, whether the fact that you are at home looking after your DS helps on the NI contributions side (know it now counts towards your qualifying years re. your OA pension). Has your DH continued working for the guy, who hasn't paid him? Hopefully, he might be able to find work elsewhere or, if not, could he be the house-husband and release you to go and find a better paid job?
On the other hand, rules & regs permitting, are you allowed/able to offer to childmind someone else's child and/or share child care i.e. one day/week you have the children, letting her work and then switch over?
Of course, there's always Betterware too? No outlay, everything paid for and you get a straight 20% of all sales. They do weekly orders so that would bring in some regular income once you've done the first order. Know you're not in my area but I could see if I can find out who is responsible for your area if you like?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi Honeypot! Welcome to the thread. If you post up the first bit of your postcode on here you may find a Sales Leader near you, who would be happy to come and sign you up. (I'm in Devon and looking to sign up people to my team.) Hmm.... maybe I should put that in my signature?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon
