bargainsearcher wrote: »Hi all, just had my first delivery today, very exciting! Just a quick question about the clearance sale catalogue. I only received one copy is that correct? It's going to be a bit difficult showing this to all customers if that is that case. Also do we earn commission on these purchases? Cheers
What campaign are you now on bargainsearcher? If it is a big Sale book, A4 size, that is your Hello Tomorrow, the Rep's discount book. If it is a C5 size book, saying Avon C6 Sale, then you should definitely have received a packet of these. How many books did you receive for distribution this campaign?
Oh and final question, what campaign does it say on the sale book?0 -
grrr...got contacted by a lady who wanted to do avon a few weeks ago. arranged and rearranged to sign her which i eventually did last wednesday. she said she had done avon before but had moved from the area and stopped. funnily enough she was signed by my am (who signed and trained me) Received her account details on friday/saturday and she has been dropping books etc....this morning email from avon ...
'Finance Department has carried out the required credit reference check on xxxx and can confirm that her Representative account has been closed, as she does not meet Avon's credit criteria'.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! emailed my AM and she replied saying to wait until the rep has received the letter and then call her to ask if she has any orders and place them myself!! well according to the rep it was mainly friends and family who wanted to buy from her so how on earth am i going to get them to them!? i dont drive ....im gutted at losing a rep, besides she was lovely and had done it before so was confident and knew what to do. But just...grrrr! according to my am she had an account at an address in a different area to the one she told me about which had been left unpaid.:(
Im getting fed up with these unreliable people. not just this rep but potentials that apply and then change their minds or cant be bothered! one of them said she needs money desperately, i explained that it takes effort and she moaned about the admin fee and sandwich bags etc really laid it on thick saying she couldnt afford a bus to this place etc....then has been bragging EVERY NIGHT (on facebook) about going out clubbing! maybe have one less drink and buy some blimmin sandwich bags then! lol:pcamp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

Well i ordered 100 books for this campaign - Though I would really try and boost my sales. Took me 2 hours on friday to drop them off and over 3 hours today to collect them (Had my 2 year old with me). I got one order for a total of £1.98. Works out at 10p per hour!! I have all old peoples bungalows and flats on my teritory. I convinced myself that these oldies might buy more cos they might not have the net to order from avon and they might be 'old school' type avon customers. NO SUCH LUCK!!
Am i able to ask my SL for different territiry?''Aim for the moon, because if you miss you will still land amongst the stars''0 -

Oh dear, sounds more like Betterware to me than Avon (I dropped 70 books one day last week, which only resulted in one order of £1.99 - luckily my second drop was more fruitful. Having said that, B books are free). Really not a good idea to order loads of Avon books to 'stuff' through letterboxes; I've always prefered to ask - books cost money so no point just leaving them anywhere.
By all means, ask your SL/ASM for new territory; chances are they'll give you extra rather than change what you've originally got.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Snap - per my comments a few pages ago.... I asked for special consideration to be given to a newbie of mine, who was also rejected by the Credit Dept, but they just reiterated she'd been rejected.
Am surprised at your ASM suggesting you take on the financial liability.... That definitely smacks of her putting herself before you!:mad:
In my case my newbie now seems to have gone to ground - tried to find out today if she'd received the letter from Avon but still waiting for a reply... Does seem a shame when they have some orders ready to put in but there's a limit as to what we can do.:(Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Its a little more than frustrating lol. But the thing is she told me my am signed her but the area she has the debt from is not the one my am covers so im thinking this rep is a tad dodgy. supposed to be seeing her on wed for her second training thingy but will have to call her tomo and pretty much say....you cant do it, wait for a letter and sort it yourself.not looking forward to that. so what with her, the one whos decided to disappear and my OHs sister ive lost 3 in a week!

Double snap - although I 'win'! I 'lost' two personal sign-ups plus one via my SL and one via my ASM all in the space of a week! My SL put a second one my way, who's now been refused by Avon. In that case I just rang the applicant to say I'd received an email from Avon saying she'd been refused (shifts the blame
) but I'd do my best to see if there was anything I could do. In the event, it seems that once Avon has decided No, then it's a deffo NO.... Bit strange in the case of my newbie as she told me she was organising a telephone landline this week and, hopefully, a computer... (great, I thought - she's obviously financially OK and maybe Avon are wrong) but then today when a visit was arranged she was 'out' (and supposedly buying a new car!!) Ding Dong!!

I share this account with my sister sometimes. And i think that she might have said something about me on here a while ago. But my story is:
I tried Avon for about a year or so but didn't work out for me, don't know why, the sales leader came round and seemed in a hurry to just get me signed up and then shot off, never to be seen again only to huff at me when i wanted more order forms and when i said i had to print some off she actually huffed went to her car and shoved some at me then left.
Was only given 2 streets and of those only got about 6 customers from them.
First time out was given nothing but abuse, one book was thrown back at me with some choice words from him. Then another woman was horrid. I don't like that it upset me a lot and if it hadn't been for my BF going out with me i wouldn't have kept on at it from the first point.
I tried to put adds in shops, but then had a few customers all over the place and i dont drive so that was a real mess.
For most of the campaigns i was only just breaking even if that, for some though i was making it up out of my own money, either people not paying or not on time or this and that.
The end of last year i just stopped and didn't put the first order in then the next and now i don't do it any more.
I would have loved to have made a good go of it, if i hadn't had to do it on my own i think that it might have worked a bit better for me, i'm not that confident etc for going out with books orders etc, but didn't mind the sorting orders etc.
Might be just rambling but some of you do so well at it. Wish that it would have worked out for me. Really need the money.~ Arguing with a fool just proves there are two ~

ss so long as you don't hand over goods without payment then you aren't at risk - whether it's to the lady and you sell them on at cost price ( encouraging her to keep getting orders for you ) or you deliver them directly to the customers yourself. It will help your sales figures if she is willing to get orders for you, helping you reach pc potentially. And of course if you can't deliver any of the items you can return them anway so worth doing.
Unfortunately ss and mc the things you're experiencing is what happens to all sl - better to learn that early on and get it out the way. It's not a nice lesson to learn, was a shock to me what I had people "stand me up" so to speak - but now its water of a ducks back, I'm always pleasantly surprised now when people actually sign up and place an order! Sounds harsh but some people will just mess you about it's nothing you've done wrong (they'd do it to whoever was signing them up) you'll just always get people cancel at the last minute or not be in for when you arrange etc etc- better to just move on than stress over it, and help the people who actually want your help.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hi, I've just emailed my ASM about getting some more territory and also the other rep dropping (or more like collecting my books!) books on my road. How many times do you canvass the territory completely before just giving books to those that order? I'm starting to get people tell me whether they want a book again so I am starting to whittle down my territory but I just wanted to be able to buy as little books as possible so the price of the books isn't eating away at my commission! Hopefully I'll get another road from my ASM then I can use my previous campaign books on that road as I only have about 15 houses on my back campaign at the moment so once those books have gone out once they're kind of redundant!
Off out to drop some more books this morning and hopefully collect in the last 5 books that I couldn't get yesterday - determined to get them all back lol!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940
