i have a question.i ordered the illuminating face pearls from the wrong book so the more expensive one came.what do i do?

do you have the next book? Is it cheaper in there? Give it to your customer at the price they thought they were paying. Order from next book and return as if bought from this campaign.
  • My turn for a query now please. I signed up two newbies recently but they've both decided not to continue (am trying not to take it personally - they're the only two I signed up on my own rather with my own SL! :o ) Do they/I have to contact Avon to cancel the agreement officially or will their accounts just 'die' when they don't place any orders? (One has said this is a 'postponement' rather than a cancellation but am wondering if that was just a comment thrown in to lessen the blow.)

    A few questions:

*COCUS WALK OR RACE FOR LIFE?? difference? pros/cons

**How many camps when becoming a SL is your upline supposed to help you for? ie books, sign ups.

umm, will need to look it up on etraining guide.

***What happens if you sign someone up or get a lead and there is NO TERRITORY?eg yesterday i signed up a girl. Before hand i looked on sma and requested the small about that was there and then emailed the manager of that area. She didnt get back to me till after the rep had gone but i had already covered myself with the small amount i had
...BUT what would happen if you were out prospecting in an area or someone saw my flyer and wanted to do avon as their main source of income and there was no territory?

Ask the person you are recruiting, if they have family and friends or are they going to rely on territory. Ask if they drive or are prepared to travel a little, maybe a bus ride out of their area if no local territory to them.

to be honest I am not recruiting anyone in my immediate area as we are saturated with reps so there won't be any territory. And as I noticed yesterday, the ASM for one of my reps still has not updated SMA to show her as having the territory. But if she does give up after this campaign it won't matter.

****Lastly(more of a small rant than question)...when i contacted the area manager (of the area i was signing up in) I asked if there was any more free roads etc near by, she replied saying she had just released some territory near but i would have to be quick, when i looked there was no territory so i emailed her again and asked for the street names so i could find where she meant...

She asked if i could send the sign ups full details so she could request it for her, I sent her name, 1st line and postcode... then she emailed again saying 'I need her title ,as you know, before i can reserve any'
HOW WOULD I KNOW THAT? I ve been a SL for all of a month? She didnt need these details last time i requested more for another rep of mine!

No idea that they needed to know who it was for. I suppose if it was for a downliner, then they would be encouraged to recruit reps rather than have more territory as mine keeps doing.

If they haven't placed any orders, and they are within 2 weeks of signup, they can terminate their contract. You could email Avon and tell them that they wish to resign.

What i do is send an email giving the details fo the resignation and copy it to:
    My AM
    My upline
    To Avon themselves
and a copy to the resigning rep for their records

covers all bases in one email.

the problem was me and yes it was cheaper-in the latest book.not had chance to look recently @ books and i knew that the item is usually £8.50-sometimes cheaper when on offer.customer ordered what i thought was 1 but was 2 (should've realised that £10 was too dear) and i'd backordered to get it cheaper-so totally my fault.had the item in stock so giving her 2 isn't a problem fortunately.

I get my reps to sign up as a f&f rep in the first instance and tell them that i will look for territory for them while they get busy getting orders from everyone they already know. I do not promise territory, i tell them i will "try".
Reps come and go, so an area previously covered can become vacant again.
There are lots of f&f reps out there who do very well selling to people they know, this works particularly well for those who work in big offices with lots or cosmetic-hungry women :T
Sometimes i do online appoinments right there and then in the reps home using their pc or my laptop. That way i can reserve territory and get an account number straight away. An online appointment involves completing an online version of the agreement contract along with the usual green form.

The avon online appointment pages says .....
You will need to complete certain sections of the Avon Representative Agreement Acknowledgement Form (provided by the Area Sales Manager or the Sales Leader) and also SIGN the form. Once Avon has received your Online Appointment Form you will be sent an acknowledgement e-mail. This email will inform you of the account number allocated to you. You may use this account number to store order details. However, the account will not be activated until you have been accepted by Avon as a Representative.

It can be frustrating when you need a quick answer from your upline or Am and they dont seem to be responding. And with a huge number or reps to deal with i expect they forget who is who and when they joined, try not to let it agravate you too much, try and let it go over your head.

I've realised I've actually got a huge territory. I couldn't even imagine trying to flyer all the apartment buildings on my actual road as well. I would have to quit my other job and just do AVON everyday. The upside is that all this area isn't really that far from my own flat only a few minutes in each direction, and I don't drive. I may not even be able to cover it all in one campaign, which I guess is why the back/front thing is a good idea :D

its a GREAT thing youve got a big territory - so many reps out there struggle to find ANY territory at all or have to travel miles to reach it.

If you find 30 books isnt enough, just order yourself some more,
15 brochures are £4.86 but after that the price comes down to 48p per pack of 5. So you could get 60 books for £9.18 .... and books count towards your MOV too.

To begin with while you are canvassing to find customers, you'll be using all of your books, so perhaps think about having half the area on the camp behind ? And also thin carefully about how long you leave each book at a house for, the longer it sits there the fewer times you can re-use it, but if you dont leave it there long enough, the customer might not get chance to look through it before giving it back.

But once you have establish a regular set of buying customers, you will be able to service them on much fewer books.
But you must remember not to get complaicent about it and to re-canvass your area a few times each year and hopefully pick up a few new customers who previously were not interested.
  • Thanks poppet. Great help xx
