Avon Hints and Tips (Part 3)

Hi Avonbeginner
The way I do my calling book is to put a diagonal line when I deliver the brochure, then one the other way (to make a cross) when I collect. If I don't collect the book, then I put a small cross beside the diagonal 'delivery' line............if that makes any senseIf the customer has had a brochure with their order, then I mark a 'B'. It's just a matter of working out your own code.
You might like to take a look at p4 of this thread as I posted my own 'hints & tips' and 'sales promo ideas'.

i use a simple excel spreadsheet as my calling book, i then print out a list of who im dropping to that day and what book they are getting and take it with me. then on day i collect them i take the list too and write down on the list net to the address their "status" using my codes "cno - collected no order .. NA - no answer.... ORD - order" then i come home and enter the info into my calling book spreadsheet.. may seem long winded but means i can swap and change info at the click of a button/mouse and have it all set out neatly infront of me.
Helps me stay organised and i need to be as i have 3 different campaigns an approx 300 books out at a time! lol Just always make sure i have a backup of it too - too valuable info for me to ever lose! :eek:0 -
so £250 in sales...? or am i being dim lol. sorry and thanks lozza lol x
Just worked it out quickly, and £270 of sales with a 25% discount comes out at £202.50.
But bear in mind the costs of any brochures, demo products etc, and of course any fixed discount items. But as a rough guide, your reps should be able to order up to approx £270 this time without any problems from what you've said.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Most peoples figures on here are their order totals, not the amount they actually earn. Mine might seem higher, as they are mine & OH orders combined, but I don't add on anything we purchase for ourselves, gifts or to sell at carboots (when its summer we do them), the figures are purely what the order forms say.
Your calling book is definately your best friend lol, you don't need to use it how the example says, I know I don't - just so long as you understand where you have left a book, and which are outstanding then thats enough. I have 2 calling books, one for people on the current brochure, and one for the people on the previous brochure, as I find it easier that way. Always make sure you have plenty in - you can order as many as you like, oh ordered 20 once as a joke not expecting to receive that many but they sent them all lol!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
excellent thank you. yes thinking about it my first order was £443 and i had to pay a good £100-£150 so yeah. I just wanted to make sure my reps knew as it was a big shock to me and not everyone is lucky enough to have people to 'borrow' it from etc.
Also i re-read the smart start thing and yes i think youre right and EVERYONE will change even if they have started their scheme (very excited)
Now...yet another question.
My camp 4 order is tomo. My OH is on camp 4 also so I will order his camp 6 brochures on his account(which I will use really) and order some for possible sign ups etc from MY account. how many would you suggest and would you say to order brochure 7s? ...camp 12=£443 13=£425 14=£277 15=£474 16=£492 17=£438 18=£437 1=£319 2=£153:o 3=£220 :jSALES LEADER:j4=£202 5=£191 6=£167 7=£193 8=£216 9=£211

I am a new Avon rep just started up this week. I've delivered half of my books already but made the fatal mistake of not noting down where I'd collected books from and who wasn't in. On my next lot I've written the address already so I can see who is placing an order and who isn't. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to start properly and how to make the most out of my sales? I'm going to take all you tips about holding a party and already have two planned with family members who are going to bring friends.
You're advice is fab so don't leave lol!
Thanks
A couple of pages back you may have been the hints & tips I posted, some may seem daft, but some are really useful, especially when you first start. The main things to begin with are:
make sure you collect the brochures on the day you say, and that your customers know roughly when you'll be delivering any orders
deliver brochures in resealable bags, means people will leave them out in bad weather and they won't be damaged. The bags don't cost much, and can last for many campaigns, so a good investment.
run some offers/loyatly scheme - anything to try and keep your customers loyal to you, if you offer poor service, and no incentives, if anyone they know (say at their workplace) starts avon and does offers - then they will probably order from them instead. I do "get a free gift with every 6 orders", along with different orders every other campaign or so. Trying to do more this year to boost sales. This camp I'm doing spend £20 or more and get a free gift, might not get many takers but rewards my good customers.
Don't spend too much on samples to begin with - you'll get sent some by avon anyway and while you have your 2 x £7.50 coming out you don't want to decrease your earnings further by spending loads on samples - especially when you have no idea on the kinds of products your customers will like.
Hope this helps!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Don't bother ordering brochures on your OH account - avon won't be bothered, but it will cost you more. If you order them on your account you get them cheaper, as SL get brochures at PC price which is a lot cheaper. Your OH will be sent one single brochure, at a charge of 55p, BUT - you can return this if you choose to, as you didn't order it, and the system lets you return it. I do this for OH, and MIL (as she buys her brochures from me at the cheaper rate) also returns her single brochure, and had no problems at all.
Yes I'd order further ahead, as if you sign someone towards the end of camp6, it can be worth signing them into camp7, which obviously you can't do if you don't already have the brochures. It does mean however that you'll have avon books coming out of your ears lol:rotfl:Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Good tips but got to ask.... how do you manage to have three different campaigns out at the same time? Thought we could only order from our current and back campaign?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
