Sue will be back online later to allocate you a members number, consider yourself "IN", as we don't turn anyone away from SPC. Get yourself off to Home & Bargain, B&M's or one of the other bargain stores, buy yourself one of the sealed pots (to take away temptation!) and get rady to start saving with us, you'll find us all friendly and there for you if you need a shoulder/rant/hug or anything else. :D

    Thank you :)

Have already got a sealed tin (well 2 actually) that are supposed to hold £500 in £1 coins - so I am going to have 1 for pounds and 1 for the rest.

Have no idea how much is in there, I havent kept track but thats all the fun!!
I really want to save for a house deposit and aiming high, £6000:eek: saved for one years time from today!! :T

    Welcome to you DDM88
Again Sue will be along later to allocate you a number, she will also give you some great advice about how to get your money out of your pot without breaking it, also expert tips on raiding the pockets of your loved one :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, you see she's the best "Pocket Raider" there is.

Enjoy the banter but most of all enjoy saving for your new house ;)

  • I dont have an OH - so no pocket raiding for me, but I am no ashamed to pick up coins in the street - a 1p that someone else doesnt want is a 1p towards my debts - we live close to a corner shop and a Mcdonalds - both great hunting grounds :D

A very warm welcome to the thread frasersmum123 and dooleysdollymix88! That one just about beats em all, surely!;) It's lovely to have you here with us. biggrin.gif Have fun saving in 2011 or as soon as you're ready! You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much

You'll both see I've put your Targets in with red, but that's only to remind me to NOT take them off with the other targets for this year. You'll see be in the black girls! :D

frasersmum123, nothing shameful about picking up what others drop - daft not to! We call it roadkill, but it's saving by any name!

dooleysdollymix88even though they say you can smash the pots - PLEASE DON'T as it's only a ploy to get you to buy another from them. Do they think we Sealed Potters are bonkers???? Keep that lovely gift from your Mum for as long as is possible! When you want to empty it, sit at a table with a thin bladed knife...tilt the jar up til the money comes to the top and gently slide the knife in and (almost, but not quite) out gently and it'll soon start to pour out. Have a drink with you and have the arm muscles worked out a bit - you'll know you've done it after, but by golly it's worth it!! ;)

Back later folks, Tea Time calls!!

Sue x Anyone else wishing to join - it's NEVER too late. So, just say the word and you're in for next year too! :xmassmile

  • I think I need to open my eyes...I never spot any money on the floor!
Found out how to update my sig...feeling at home already!
Will the knife trick still work with lots of folded up notes? I hope so It is a very pretty pot with poem and it would be great if I didnt have to spend before saving each year!
