Hi Sue-UU
Thanks for my number 988. I have already put it on my signature and have found an old vitamin jar which I have customised for my sealed pot challenge.
Ice bucket emptied and am now looking at some cute paper to cover it so that I can recycle it again and again and again. After all it's all about money saving isn't it.

The spotty loon is indeed a Dal, although he's one of the more unusual Liver Spotted ones. Arrived at the boy's house to find a nice little collection of small change littering the street between the house and the supermarket so have had a rummage in the back of the car and added the change from the last few days to the bottle, and had a giggle as the 3 litre bottle is cuddled up in the bag with 1 litre, and 70cl versions it looked like those russian dolls unstacked. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Sue-UU, thanks for the good advice about spending half the pot money on my holiday and half for Christmas - but I've decided to keep the money where it is. As the total looks so impressive I don't want it to suddenly go down! So I've paid the balance on the holiday - and thanks to my MSE lifestyle did not need to use the CC. So, am a winner all round as I see it!
Don't know if I said, but the money outgrew the original one litre plastic bottle, so now lives in an old-fashioned stoneware 7lbs jam jar, with a sturdy lid added to the top. Just the job!
SO sorry to hear about your Labrador - a very good age, but in a way that just makes it harder, doesn't it?Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

Hi. I've just registered with the forum, so coming to this very late in the year. I've done this kind of loose change saving before, and it's worked really well for me (in fact, it's the only saving I've ever successfully managed to do in my life!) Can you please add me to the list, if I'm not too late? Thanks so much!Proud to (finally!) be dealing with my debts!! DFW Nerd # 1333

Good Morning everyone,
A warm welcome to the newest members of the gang. I've got a £5er thats been tempting me to spend all week, so I'm going to chuck it into my pot when I get home. Also found £1 in Mr M's last night (luckily LC2 wasn't around to find it!) so thats gone into the road change jar, plus I got an £82 payment off Quidco so thats been transferred to the New York fund.
No news on the lappy yet, must be a nasty virus we picked up

Hiya sparky, lets hope they're not too much longer with your laptop or you'll risk forgetting what it looks like!I hope it's not too pricey either, though with some of those darned viruses.....! I know, I'll shut up before I put you into some sort of depression.
Well done dbushes, at least you're sorted and running now.
Hi Winchelsea, I'm not a bit surprised at your very wise decision as I guessed you'd hate parting with any of it yet, good for you. Thanks so much for your words about our dear Sally, it's a week ago today so a bit raw, but life does indeed go on.
Thanks for the explanation of your loon scuba, though what it would have been if not.......!
