£3 going into this pot today. Wondering why I don't seem to have much money to spend, think its 'cause I keep putting it into this and my £2 coin pot:rotfl:Oh well, if its not in my purse I can't spend it I guess!

Afternoon folks, am home from my holiday. Had a great time I've done absolutely nothing for 12 days, but while I was out there discovered that I have a 'sealed pot' in Tenerife too, a bought a small money box eons ago and chuck my small change in it when I leave but apparently other people who borrow the apartment have been donating to it too, opened it up and found that there were 40 euro in it in coins and a 20 euro note from my mum needing change and swopping it out. So I emptied it out and brought the notes home.

Got a couple of mystery shops booked for this week then hopefully moving.

I left the small change, but the notes and coins 1 euro+ came home with me and are in my holiday money wallet, alongside the egyptian pounds, Mexican Pesos and Chinese Yuan I found this afternoon while I was having a clear out. Worrying really since its 10 years since I went to Mexico and China, and the Egyptian pounds must be of a similar vintage since I know I didn't bring any home last summer (I just used Sterling for the night I was ashore). Think I'll look at getting all except the euro changed back and banked when I have time!

Sorry Scuba, but when I said "I hope you left it out there for more next time." I meant the POT!!! :o Oh dear, you always get ONE, and I'm IT!!! :o Flippin' 'eck you've been about a bit for sure, it'll soon be you and LC competing against each other for coinage. The only ones I have are the Euro (boring) in 2009 and the Deutschmark in 1994. Ah well, maybe one day I can add to them.

Well done Dee, another £1 is just great.

Same for me too from the trolley money after being in M.......s.

Not very busy on here tonight, but at least I can push off to bed. We went out for a marvellous meal with our lad and his wife last night and it's almost shattered me. Not the meal so much as the hike we had this afternoon first:eek:...still, at least some calories were already gone so to speak.

Keep safe and healthy everyone, save well even if tis only pence. :)

Nah that'll be me being thick (again). Yes the pot is still there, its about the only ornament in my room, without it I reckon it looks like a cell at the moment. I miss travelling, I was lucky that my school and college were in a pretty affluent area so there were plenty of foreign trips, I think we were planning the China one 3 years before we went near enough. Recently my travelling has mainly involved driving up and down the country trying to sneak a few days in with my petboy.

Found a couple more old purses today while excavating under my desk, there were a few small coins in them so have finally added money to it this month.

  • Put another £2 in today.

Can't decide whether to have a big OPENING UP or not. DH has now gone in to a nursing home, which means I will be able to have a bit of a holiday - a proper one I mean, away, abroad!

Was going to wait a bit longer, but the family all said I should book something (as it's been our routine for years to have an autumn holiday, and didn't think I'd get one this year).

Anyway, I'm off to Provence (by Eurostar etc) in a couple of months' time. I have to pay the balance by next weekend, and while I've said all along that the pot money is towards a holiday, I think I might just leave it there and open up nearer Christmas. Oh, I don't know.....decisions, decisions...!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!
  • Found £3.03 today so popped it all in the pot. :D
I think I will use the pot for Christmas Pantomime season for the kids...perhaps
