  • Thank you Sue-UU. The problem was on payday we'd draw out all extra cash and it would get frittered and at the end of the week if there was any left the small stuff would go in the sealed pot and the large stuff would go back in the bank but there usually wasn't much left and we had nothing to show for it.
But now I am only taking out £10 when we are out and about, more if needed, and keeping about £5 in our purse/wallet for if it's needed for emergency milk etc. :T And I think this system will work well for us because if it's not there we can't spend it! Plus whatever if left at the end of the day from the money that day goes in the pot, so hopefully lots more into the pot! Oops I really waffle lol.

Oh and I also have £1.10 today to add to my pot and the total is £8.50 :j

    Hi all
Awful week for me I'm afraid. My tin HAD to be opened. The £40 I suspected to be in there turned out to be £66 so that was a bit of good news. But why open it? My crown dropped out :( & thats a band 2 dental bill (£45) I even managed to lose it and now I need a new one -band two bill just became band 3 (£198). I've got to wait four weeks for my next appointment and am left with an unsightly gap at the front of my mouth. The nerve will be dead by the time of my next appointment so I'll be expecting one of those horrid root canal filling things as well.

At least I'll get quite a bit of the money back - I joined one of those health plan things a while back and it renewed the same date as my first dental visit, so hopefully £165 will be paid back. It's still a pain though, forking out the dental bill before hand, I simply can't afford it and will need to miss one weeks rent and catch up later.

It'll all work out in a few weeks I suppose and that £66 will definately go back in a new pot!

Have a nice week end everyone - especially Sue UU :)

Hi everyone, just popping in to say I added £22 to the pot today! Won a tenner on the lottery last saturday and again this wednesday (just played a lucky dip for the hell of it!) and then added a £2 I found today! Hopefully it's adding up in there! Best of luck to everyone else!

oooh rancid - a that doesn't sound very nice for you. glad your pot came in useful though.

Lots of pennies in my pottie this week as I've been rather indulgnt this week in buying lunch for work every day! But will make my own again from Monday.:A

Have decided what I'm spending mine on too:j The potties will be going into this year's ISA - and piggy-wig will be opened in April to pay for my trip to Borneo (or towards it anyway).

Kind of enjoying the rain in London today. Yep! I am weird.:p:p:p

Welcome back Kas - you've been missed. xxx

Hiya everyone, little late in the day, but good to see you no matter what the time is. :D

Good for you toriaterrier, you sound quite together about it all and it's a credit to you for planning it as you have, great work! :T BTW, you didn't waffle at all, you just explained it all, but that takes wording and being precise, well done toria and all the best with saving every penny possible! :)

Oh dear rancid-a, I really do sympathise with you :(, who'd believe with the size that teeth are that they'd be so darned EXPENSIVE?!!! I hate root canal fillings, and like you I lost one 6 years ago, but that was one a large one, that blessed thing cost a ruddy fortune!! :o Not to worry rancid, at least you had some of the money to help with it and that's the main thing and thank goodness you'd joined a health plan! All the best rancid and keep looking ahead with a toothy grin! :p

Very well done Kerry and thanks for seeing to the siggy update for me. :)

Great news ruby! Excellent work with the 2 x £10ers! :T Hope you can keep up your winning streak! It's great to see you back.

Hiya LC! That's a change to see you've already decided what your savings are going to be for, though I can't talk as this year's a first for me to already know too. :o Weird you??? Never! :whistle:Actually, I love the rain...when I'm inside looking out, but our lad loves walking his dog when it's raining! It's ok so long as you can go home to a warm shower and clean, dry clothes. Ah...speaking to a Chicken...we bought some this week! They are so beautiful, peaceful too bless em AND 2 eggs already! :D

£10.12 in my pot today. One number short of a tenner in the lottery! :( Have a lovely Sunday ALL, a better day too.
