I dont think so.
Plusnet. Line Rental , Inclusive E&W calls, and caller display. £11.49 a month.
Same deal with BT £10.50 a month.
I meant cheaper connection charge... although you only save £11.88 over a year for the line rental etc... and the connection charge is £19.99 less!
So yes... cheaper!0 -

the third customer
the fourth customer etc etc ............
BT do not charge successive customers the £125 connection. If the line is still working when the next customer moves in their is no connection charge.

"If there's a working BT line in the property connection should be free of charge, but if the line needs to be reconnected to BT or a new line is required, a connection charge of £124.99 will apply. "0 -

You've obviously not followed my situation, and I can't be bothered to go through it again... one of my posts further up explains what the Openreach engineer told me the other day when my line was connected.0

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

And, unfortunately, you believed him/her.
And then made things worse by posting about it here in an authoritative manner which might lead someone up the wrong path.
When reading posts here people should note the warning:Anyone can post so always exercise caution when acting on info0 -

People moving home are being charged a £125 reconnection fee by BT - even if the previous owner was a customer of the telecom giant.

When reading posts here people should note the warning:
I didn't post in an authoritative manner, I just said what the Openreach engineer told me... I never said anything about believing them, I was just passing the information on.
You have to realise that there are so many different stories going around, which ones are we supposed to believe?
Anyway I'm sorted, my landlord paid for my connection so I'm not complaining and I really don't care anymore.0 -
Well some would say your manner was authoritative.
You keep posting that plusnet are cheaper than BT to do the job, whenever anyone tries to point out you are wrong, you insist you are right! (Though you're not)
And you chastised someone for not reading your (two week old) post reporting to us about a BT engineer who (wrongly) told you everyone has to pay BT £125 every time the phone gets swapped from one subscriber to another.
If you "don't care" about this topic, why bother to keep posting wrong information about it?0 -
A £125 quid to get a working phone line installed in you house for the rest of your homes life which is also maintained and worked on if necessary is in my opinion a good return.
But a £120 call out charge plus £99 per hour plus parts. Not a good return in anyone's money0
