    Hi irchy_mum.

I'm amazed how well I am feeling after just one week. I'm still in abit of pain but thats getting better everyday. Its a lot easier to move about now and I can now walk about upright with a straight back (before I was a bit stooped) Only thing bothering me now is my throat, its still very sore. I'm going to call docs today to see if its normal or if he thinks I have an infection.

Sorry to hear about your sister but glad all is well with her now. My consultant has told me I will still have to have smear tests as they had to leave a small piece of my cervix behind that they sew shut to "hold in" any future pregnancies.

Hi rainee. Iv'e had generals before and my throat was fine after a couple of days. Admittedly this time I had the tube down for much longer than ever before but I thought it would be ok by now. Iv'e called my GP surgery and my doc is going to call me sometime today. I hope he doesn't want me to go to the surgery as I can't fit into anything else other than pj bottoms cos of the swelling :rotfl:

Me again!! :D Just another update.

My consultant called me on Friday to say that he has one set of results but not the other so he can't tell me anything yet. Its his policy to give me both sets of results together just in case one is good news and the other isn't. He's gone on hols now though for 2 weeks so I have to be patient and wait:rolleyes: I'm not too worried though as he said whatever the outcome of the results I won't see him any sooner than at my 6 weeks check up so whether I have the results now or in 2 weeks doesn't matter really.

I would have posted sooner but have had a rough weekend. Got my period and it was agony and very heavy :o

    Well everyone....I'm still here!!!! I made it!!!!!:D

I got home yesterday (wednesday) at about 12ish dinner time. Apparently the surgery went well apart from a little unexpected bleeding at the end that had to be fixed. I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach by something very large when I came round :o Was dosed up on morphine until Tuesday morning but that didn't seem to even take the edge off the pain. Once my morphine drip was taken away I was given paracetamol  Hello...I've just had major surgery and all you're giving me is paracetamol???
Oh well I got through it and am glad to be home. I should get my results in about 2 weeks or sooner, my surgeon is hopeful that he got it all but we will just have to wait and see.

I know I keep saying it but I appreciate all your kind words and good wishes. Thanks everyone.
Glad youre feeling a bit better but the paracetamol thing is ridiculous. The same thing happened to me when i had a hysterectomy with a major vertical wound.Eventually they realsied i was in agony and gave me dyhdrocodeine and voltarol.I'd advise anyone in similar position to demand adequate pain relief cos you dont get it automatically!!

Shelly, I've just found this thread and wanted to wish you all the best with your recovery and will be keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the news is good with your results :) Sorry to hear that you've had a bad weekend ((hugs)) x

And reading this has encouraged me to have that smear test I've been putting off so thank you! :o :T
