Are there any times of day when you feel better than at other times? I often find that I shift myself faster in the morning because I have to get up, feed and clean the hens, walk the dogs etc - so having a quick whizz round to empty bins or stick a load of washing in is somehow easier to slot in. I hoover whilst the dogs are in the kitchen having their breakfast (otherwise Tessy attacks the hoover!). I do the bathroom a bit at a time eg loo one day, shelves and window ledges the next.

The rest gets done as and when although I try to do most things at least fortnightly. At the moment my hand is wrapped up because a dog bit it (not one of my dogs, I hasten to add!) so there's a lot I can't do and it will just have to wait. The flylady thread does help if you can stop yourself reading the whole thread or you will get nothing done :rotfl:

I agree with some of the other replies though. If you can get DLA why not use some of it on a cleaner? But make sure you get the form filled in by a Welfare Rights Officer or local advice service - don't try filling it in yourself or asking the DLA people to help.

    Take care.

I'm currently 'learning' how to be disabled and I am doing so by working out what's truly important to me and mine. For example, home cooking and clear worktops in the kitchen are really important to me so these get a priority. Bits of fluff and dust on the stairs carpet, piles of clean clothes on the dining room table are not, in the grand scheme of things, important, so they can stay there! I also weigh the physical 'cost' of the job against the satisfaction of getting it completed. It might be helpful to make a list of what you consider your jobs to be, and have a really good look at it and see if some are just habit, or preference rather than truly affecting your quality of life if they're not done.
  • Afternoon everyone I am in this week have had a busy weekend so didn't get last weeks list finished and got a busy week this week to.

DS woke up at 3.15 and has been awake since then he didn't want to do any Physio this morning when they got here and has been having a major wobble so going to get him to have half hour sleep if I can! and will get on with todays list. Just had letter for his review with the Paeditrican it's on the 18th december right on top of xmas not sure if I should change it or not but my mum arrives that day to:confused:

Just had the quote for the rest of the garden work through... more than I thought,

So I need to decide what the priorities are, what I can do myself, and how I'm going to negotiate this. I know it's a major piece of work, but I simply don't have this kind of money (and I told them that right at the beginning). For a start, I'd expect to see a discount for this amount of work... and secondly, I'm going to try to get a fixed price as I know what will happen otherwise! I suppose I'll have to find a few other people to come and quote, which will delay things further...

    Any thoughts/suggestions gratefully received...

Hi Greenbee have you tried advertising the gardening job on here http://www.ratedpeople.com/find/gardeners-garden-designers?gclid=CIq5lNzfsp4CFVeY2AodiRmVlA
I put a job I wanted done on there and trades people contact you and arrange to come and quote saves time and phonebills ringing them!

A big thanks to everyone who welcomed me last week and a big Welcome to all newbies this week and an even bigger thanks to Pigpen/Toots and Soappie for keeping us all in order!

    Hi All
Very productive this morning....I have done the following:

My morning dailies, including the dreaded bathroom S&S, cleared a pile of junk from around my desk (you know, those things you'll get to 'later on, when I've got time'), and:

Just trying to persuade DS that he needs to have a nap - he's changing his nap pattern and he sleeps at 9am for an hour and then aims for a 4pm nap  (used to be midday) which means he's still awake at 9pm. Thing is, he's tired now and grumpy so hopefully he'll have a sleep when I do the school walk in an hour or so.

I'm off to take some photos for eBay now, not sure when I'll get to list them, but aiming for Wednesday....

    Have a good afternoon
    Take care
