grateful - any advice greatly appreciated, just spoken to DH's DD; say it's sh$te still her mum is saying the same things like 'go down to tour dad's I don't want you' but that she won't speak to us, we are caught between a rock and a hard place and will have to go down solicitors route so that's it done legally. My girls say we should just pick her up but that can be classed as abduction can't it?

Pigpen - sorry it's off thread again, please forgive me

Well.. having aked about this on Monday.. ;)

I was informed.. over the age of 8 the judge will ask the child what they want.. with parental consent. Over the age of 12 they can make the decision without parental consent if they have been 'advised' independantly and assumed developed enough to understand the implications of their decision.. all children are eligible for legal aid so DD could go to a solicitor of her own accord.

If I was DH I would drive up and talk to mum face to face.. the mum only has to write a letter stating that DD is moving to yours (or he can write and she sign it) and you can use that as 'evidence' should she decide 2 days later she wants her back.. in which case obviously others would be involved but at 14 the police would not remove her from your care unless it was an unsafe place for her to be, which I am sure it isn't, or if DH had a criminal record for a few things.

Don't forget just for advice you get 30 minutes free with many solicitors so DH could go to a few different ones for different free sessions.. they will draft a letter for you in this time too sould you need it.

The thing you need to be sure of is that she does really want to come to yours and is not just saying it to spite her mum or because she thinks you will let her do as she pleases and her mum sets different boundaries.

I hope you can come to some agreement.

LadyLib, Toots and Tristan - I am so sorry I missed the visualisation. I hope you all gained some strength from it
Toots - thank. treatment was fine today, just a sore arm - feels like a lead weight, guess that would be all the iron then :rotfl:

Dusty - hope the glass of wine helped with the shoulder and AF. Hope tomorrow is a better day
zoe - ouch - thats massively painful so huge coping and healing vibes coming your way.

As for flying, yesterday I still felt whacked so spent the morning on the sofa doing sweet FA, then had a walk out with DH, came back and made mince pies for him and DD and cake for me and DS :D.
Today I had my treatment which was fine and then had a sleep this afternoon, wrote the flylady cards so should get in the post tomorrow or Saturday, and have loaded the dishwasher with washing up.

Thats it :o and I have loads to do now as DS has asked if his girlfriend can stay on Saturday  and I havent met her yet so I need to have the place looking slightly reasonable. Expect me to be busy tomorrow :p.

Another parcel arrived today so thats more presents sorted, only have a couple more to get plus DS stocking fillas (not easy), oh and DH's  as to what to get - ANY IDEAS ??? All the wrapping to do!

Thats it for now, I will pop in tomorrow

    Kaz x

ETA forgot to say DH has offered DD £10 to clean her room :rolleyes::rolleyes:

ETAA - Good news car was due MOT on Sat, had a light bulb we couldnt get to work (when changed) and a seat belt that wouldnt clip in. Our little SAAB chappy couldnt fit us in but told DH the light might might be the relay and he would have to order at £90 !! so DH took it out and discovered with a magnifying glass a hairline crack on the circuit board which he repaired with a bit of solder and removed a sweet paper from the seatbelt clip. Result passed first time so well chuffed for an 8 year old car
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
