Anyone got experience of contraceptive implant removal?

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm thinking of having an implant and i wondered if anyone had any problems with weight gain or increased breast size? Weight gain is the last thing I need and I've had a breast reduction three years ago so them getting bigger is my worst nightmare

On my second implant now and no weight gain at all:jThere is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0

No me neither, actually a little bit slimmer now than before the implant. The first implant I had very irregular 'period' bleeding but soldiered on as I couldn't face having it out! Everything settled down within a year. Now I am on to my second and don't have any periods at all - bliss! I hope it goes very well for you.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

I had one, put on loads of weight almost immediately, and had what felt like 6 months solid PMT, apparently I was a total b***h to everyone.
Oh, and they wouldn't take it out even after 6 weeks when I begged them to take it away so I had to put up with 4 1/2 months more moods and weight gain even though I greatly reduced what i ate (and didn't eat any crap either) Although my friend had two totalling 6 years and never had any problems.
Never ever again!
Periods were back to normal straight away, and taking it out didn't hurt.
Can't speak for TTC, am a proud mum of three (nearly 4) little surprises
so I have the opposite problem. Only have to look at OH the wrong way or so it seems :rotfl: Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Thanks guys, dropped into the drop in centre this mroning to discuss further, walked out 20 mins later with it in my arm! The woman I saw was great and we had a really long discussion about it (and sterilisation!), she gave me a local but it didn't really work so I just gritted my teeth and told her to do it. Not painful at all really although it is now, my arm is really painful and a huge purple bruise is poking out either end of the 3 inch wide bandage she has put on it - ouch!
She told me that weight gain is not a side effect althoguh an increase in appetite can be so sounds like I'll just have to be very careful about what i eat for a few months until I know whats what."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Hope the implanon is ok for you. I had a bizarre side affect with mine that the breast on the side that my implanon was put in on grew two sizes bigger than the other one-i had it taken out funnily enough but this isn't a common side effect.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

Gosh, I had to 'google' the implant bit as I didn't know what it was .
I am way too chicken to have my inner arm cut and something the size of a matchstick inserted under anaesthetic
It's shocking! I never knew!0
