Wee bit of advice please :0) E3 error

I bought a dishwasher from Curry's in September last year, yesterday an error code E3 appeared on the control panel, I'm thinking it's something to do with the heating element? but not 100% sure.
I have e-mailed currys to let them know of my problem, just wondering what my chances are under SOGA of them repairing it without a huge drama?
I don't have a receipt as such but it is visible in my account page on the currys website.
Any advice/comments would be much appreciated (as long as they're not snidey or sarcastic lol)

If its outwith a years guarentee which I assume it is then you need to get it asssessed by an independent repairer to find out the fault, the cause, and the cost of repair and get a report saying all of this.
Currys only have to do something under the SOGA if its deemed to be due to an inherent fault or lack of durability. Price paid is a factor. If they accept all they need to do is offer a partial refund. Its possible they dont need to do anything if its a minor fault or reasonable fault.0 -
Is it Kenwood brand? I had this problem earlier this year. This issue is a known fault with the brand. I am afraid I don't have much comfort to ofer you as even though I bought their cover plan it took weeks and weeks of having no working machine, with 3 unsuccessful engineer visits, and several strongly worded emails which seemed to be deliberately misunderstood by the recipients until I finally got a refund on the thing. This is the super short version of the saga!
I just wash up by hand now!0 -
I was also within the original years guarantee (sorry, never can spell that word) at the time.0

Hi, thanks for the reply's thus far
yes it is a Kenwood and to be honest it has been the worst dishwasher I have ever had the misfortune to own!! from the very begining it has never really cleaned things on the top shelf very well, especially glasses.
If they arn't willing to do anything I'm just gonna have to suck it up I suppose and buy a decent one, any suggestions?0 -
Bad luck :-( I bought mine because I thought they were a trustworthy name- shame I didn't check the internet first! If you have the time and a thick skin, it might be worth pursuing based on this being a widely known fault and the fact that you would have expected it to last longer- possibly go via Kenwood rather than Currys? But be prepared for lots of emails telling you that they don't offer compensation for consequential loss and nothing else, even though this is not what you are asking for!!!
If you don't have the time to pursue it, do check out all your potential purchases via internet reviews etc first and best of luck :-)0 -
Kenwood dishwashers are Currys OEM. Don't contact Kenwood they'll get annoyed and send you back to Currys anyway.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

Yeah, I bought kenwood as I though it was a trustworthy make, I also bought Kenwood oven and hob at the same time
I will see what Currys have to say to my e-mail, I would have thought though that they will realise that just over a year is not a long time and for the sake of decent customer service either offer a repair or a discount off another model0 -
Currys and decent customer service should never appear in the same paragraph, in my experience.0
